We walked about a km of this wall which is actually 4 kms long, 2 kms from either side of the entrance.
Pity we had not enough time, and only one or two of us could read the old writing.
Apparently the Poem Wall is an anthology of both very old and modern poems from many Chinese poets.
But the wall was not all poems; it has illustrations as well, except we could not really understand the significance.
The wall is located along a river and we were told that it was also a barricade against overflowing waters. At the entrance a steel barrier plate would rise up from the floor and align with the wall to form a perfect barrier.
It was a lovely quiet place marred, in my opinion, by cigarette smoke from locals who were relaxing there.

It was late and it was getting cold. At this time of year, the tourist season was coming to a close, so there were hardly other visitors. The pleasure boats were all tied up, and the tandem bicycles locked up. But it was peaceful and relaxing. And we were not complaining. We were glad to be away from the crowds.

Железная колонна является одной из главных достопримечательностей архитектурно-исторического комплекса Кутб Минар. Она привлекает к себе внимание ничуть не меньше, чем знаменитый минарет или руины мечети, внутри которой она и находится. Считается, что эта колонна из чистого железа (99,7%) имеет возраст около 1600 лет и смогла чудесным образом избежать коррозии! Существует много научных и ненаучных объяснений этому явлению. Каждый может выбрать для себя наиболее правдоподобное. Но перед этим (или после этого) надо обязательно увидеть колонну своими глазами! Сейчас она возвышается над основанием на семь метров. Хотя есть сведения, что она была когда-то высотой 18 метров. Сейчас она весит шесть с половиной тонн. Ее удивительные свойства всегда вызывали поклонение людей, к ней устремлялись паломники. Сейчас к ней устремляются туристы, оказавшиеся в Дели.

夏天来的，很热，可进了景区就不觉得了，开着车一路上去，弯弯曲曲的林荫路都不是很宽，见到一个新手下山直接撞到了护栏上，危险啊。好在我是老司机，有一片很大的水域，做了游船，上岸时一个很大的坝，希望能在那里钓鱼就好了~

歴史は不明ですが、
街中を散歩していると
突然現れます。
目の前はバスロータリーのような大きな空間があり、建物を眺めるには圧迫感はありません。
建物の中に入れるかは不明です。
人が建物に登ってるようには感じられませんでした。
滞在時間は10分です。
