Dokken Outdoor Museum

Dokken Open Air Museum (Hasseloy) is located About 5 min. from the centre. An authentic section of Old Haugesund, it features thematic exhibitions on living and working conditions during the herring industry period of the 1800s. Karmsund Folkemuseum

Regional museum (in the town centre near the church) with cultural history collections centred on agriculture, fishing, shipping, living habits and building customs. The museum centre arranges thematic exhibitions featuring domestic and local life, and archaeology. Here we can view the implements the fishermen and farmers had at their disposal. Models and photos illustrate the boats that were used for fishing and transport. Also found here is the oldest general store, a shipowner's elegant dining room and a spartan schoolroom for children of the middle classes. Opening hours: all year Monday to Friday at 10.00 -14.00
