The Egon restaurants sells nice , quite good and recognisable meals for a medium price. But the way they do it is not either warm or welcoming way. You find a table, og to cashier to order, pay Your dues + tips even before you get any kind of service. I dislike this kind of trading. Do we og to restaurant for trading Food or do we og to restaurant to enjoy service and a meal, something to drink and so on?

Nothing remarkable on the menu, but the taste was supreme.
I had the curry pasta and it was one of the better meals I've had so far in 2016.
My fellow hockey teammates (18 persons) almost all had one of the burgers and no one was dissatisfied.

The best food in Haugesund, by far. Been here many times, also in bigger groups, but this time only two.
We were met by a very cosy and attentive waiter, we had the July menu (5 courses incl wine for less than 1000,- nok). And as always, you get some extra appetizers that were lovely.
From the small taste of the onion soup, to the fish (cusk) and veal, we were very happy. Excellent wine selection, that just got better when combined with the food.
Not to small and not to big portions, and when we wanted a longer break between the courses, our fantastic waiter fixed this as well.
As always - we left with smiles on our faces and just enough food in our stomach :)

I had the soup, which I thought was very good. My wife had the chicken wrap which she reports "wasn't particularly exciting". I was somewhat bothered by the music play over loudspeakers, which I thought called too much attention to itself.

Definitely a place to spend your valentine with a good choice of gourmet food. A place for fine dining, and romantic getaway. Once again can pull up their socks and have a more wider menu for alternative palates such as vegetarians and halal eaters

Cafe Rene

Cafe Rene is a full service restaurant that serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. They have a play area for children and have a children menu. Cafe Rene is also Haugesunds biggest out door restaurant.

The staff were great and accommodated my off-the-menu drink request with no problems. I didn't eat, but it looked delicious. The queueing area was small and it took a while to be served, but it was extremely busy. Also, be prepared for unisex toilets. Cafe Rene was a pleasant place to spend some of Sildajazz.

Brovingen Mat & Vin

Reviewed By Dan E - Haugesund, Norway

Incredibly lucky that we have Brovingen's chef Eirik Aase here in Haugesund. World class food, doesn't get any better than this. In my experience, even most Michelin restaurants are worse than Brovingen, a few are at the same level at the best.
The only marginal downside is that the dessert is often a couple of levels worse than world class. However, this is quite unimportant in the big picture. We are looking forward to many great evenings in the restaurant in the coming years.
Also great value for money, clearly cheaper than gourmet restaurants in bigger cities. Example: 5 courses (tasting menu, plenty of food) + wine package (world class wines) is around 1250 NOK
The restaurant only has a set 7 course tasting menu (one of the courses is main course, bigger than the others), one can pick 3, 5, or 7 of the dishes. Personally I think 5 is appropriate, 7 is way too much.
Great view, located right by the sea, downtown location (Hotel Rica Maritim).

Indian Cusine

Reviewed By TomFarhias - Kongsberg, Norway

Located in he town center this is definitely a great place to eat some Indian food. There were only a couple of tables occupied when we arrived, therefore the reception and greeting was efficient as well as the service through the meal.
The food was very good, well prepared and the tandoori sauce was excellent. The garlic naan was delicious. For two people sharing a Cobra beer and without any desserts or starters, and with a dish per person, the total bill came at 800 nok, which is expensive even for Norwegian standards.
But most likely will come back as the food was great.

We are at thus restaurant on a Saturday night. I would recommend a booking. The atmosphere is lovely especially sitting outside overlooking the harbour. As it gets darker and cooler they pull the canopy across so it is nice and warm especially on a cool night as they have burners.
The good is excellent as it is Italian the main foods are pizza and pasta. The food is average Norway prices but a 50cm pizza ideal for two people maybe three.
The garlic bread with cheese is to die for.
I would recommend this restaurant no end staff can't do enough for you so friendly.
Great place for a get together or for a romantic meal
