Ivinghoe Beacon

Great views and cycle path all the way to the summit. Many walking paths lead to and from this Chiltern Hills outlier.

Wheathampstead Heritage Trail

Reviewed By therichastill - Stevenage, United Kingdom

I was very pleased to discover a free car park next to the River Lea virtually in the centre of the village. It is signposted just off the High Street. I discovered a couple of maps at the old railway station which I would definitely recommend a visit to. There are trails around the village itself as well as trails a little further out of the village into the countryside and surrounding areas. There are lots of different building to discover within the village and I particularly enjoyed the Crinkle Crankle Walls and community garden. It's a very picturesque village and well worth a visit.

River Ver Trail

Reviewed By therichastill - Stevenage, United Kingdom

The River Ver flows through the south of the town and for much of the course of the river there is a path alongside so you can follow the river as it meanders through the suburbs and into the park. As you walk through the park there are some lovely views of the cathedral and there are information boards dotted along the route. If you enjoy a walk and having babbling water beside you then this is perfect.

Ebury Way

This lovely tree lined path has gorgeous views of lakes, parkland and the Grand Union Canal, all teeming with wildlife, especially birds. Even after this incredibly wet winter, it’s one of the few walking routes in the area that is still easily passable, though you do need the appropriate footwear in a few places. I walked it twice this week and was lucky to enjoy it in bright sunshine. It’ll be even better once there are leaves on the trees.

Stanborough Park

Reviewed By andrewsI3216SX - Chelmsford, United Kingdom

Spent a few hours here exploring, and the kids playing in the play area. Parked on the north side and walked through to the lakes. Nice clean park with lots of space. Kids enjoyed the play area. Car parking machine seemed overly complicated but didn't mind paying
