7 Antique Stores in Stockholm That You Shouldn't Miss

May 1, 2022 Marianna Hollaway

The capital city of Sweden combines modern attractions with historic charm. Kick off your stay with visits to Stockholm’s two UNESCO World Heritage Sites: the Royal Palace Drottningholm (the residence of the royal family) and the magical Skogskyrkogården, or Woodland Cemetery. Stroll the cobblestone streets of Old Town and over the picturesque bridges that span the city’s canals. The 19th-century Skansen was the world’s first open-air museum and is still a premier place to learn about Swedish history.

Berg Gallery

Berg Gallery is combined showroom for Scandinavian mid-century design and a gallery for contemporary applied art and sculpture. Berg Gallery specializes in Scandinavian post-war design with an emphasis on lighting and ceramics. We curate around nine different contemporary exhibitions per year, with artists working in ceramics, metal, wood, glass and other materials. We like objects that combine the abstract with extreme handiwork, and we only exhibit what we like. In our showroom or in our close by warehouse you will find Scandinavian ceramic art objects from the heydays around 1940 - 1960 paired with exclusive lighting from “the Golden Age of Scandinavian lights”. Additionally, you will find selected furniture, Swedish rölakan carpets and other beautiful objects in glass, metal and wood. Our modernistic focus is on ceramics, lightning, carpets, glass and metal objects.
