United Nations Visitors Service

The United Nations Office at Nairobi (UNON) located in the leafy suburb of Gigiri, Nairobi, is one of the four United Nations Headquarters and the only one in Africa and the Global South. The Visitors Service’s main goal is to inform visitors about the work of the United Nations and its agencies by opening up the United Nations Complex to the public. We hope visitors will return home with a positive impression of the United Nations and its work in building peace and sustainable development. The Visitors Service provides guided tours to tourists, delegates, schools, colleges and universities as well as the general public. Special briefing programmes for groups can be arranged according to their areas of interest. Tours are conducted in English, and are available in French, German, Chinese and Swahili upon request.

Pierre Menager gave an excellent tour with so much valuable information and space to ask questions and discussions. Absolutely a great tour where you learn a lot about the UN, it’s vision and operations.

Peterson will help to find what you're looking for. They are old and in need of funding. Their micro-fisch film is deteriorating. Do your research sooner, rather than later.

Kenyatta International Conference Center

Reviewed By Martin_Wahogo - Nairobi, Kenya

It's the most iconic place in Kenya. There are three huge water fountains at the front, surrounding a monument of Kenya's 1st president. The best experience is at the rooftop where you have a 360 degrees view of the whole of Nairobi. It's amazing. There is a restaurant within the grounds but it is a bit pricey for someone on a budget. It houses some government offices so the security at the entrance is a bit tight but the visit is worth the hussle. There is an entry fee depending on age and nationality.
