Reviewed By lothars504Schlimm Wäre ich bloß weiter gefahren! Hotel im Hinterhof. Große Fabrik nebenan. Zimmer eine Frechheit! Das Rollo total kaputt, verschmutzt, aus den Gardinen rieselte der Staub. Ein Lattenrost gab es nicht, es war eine Spanplatte, hart ohne Ende. Teppich übersät mit Flecken. Diese Hotel bitte nicht aufsuchen, auch nicht wenn man nicht weiß wohin.

Best in town, great customer service
Reviewed By Williams17I've been a bit slow doing this review as we stayed in late April. However we had the best experience there and I really wanted to thank them for their great hospitality. We didn't really know what to expect but we had booked the suite which extremely comfortable, older style. A small hall area, large bedroom/sitting area with view over the street, separate bathroom and toilet. Heated towel rails. Free wifi that worked. The woman who looked after us who seems to do everything, greeted us at reception, served breakfast and cleaned the rooms was wonderful. We had no German and she went out of her way to try and speak some English to us, getting tips from others about what she wanted to say. All wonderful and totally unexpected. She constantly had a smile on her face and was a pleasure to deal with. We had three nights but I could have stayed much longer. The hotel is an easy walk from the train station. It is located right in the heart of town and has a very good restaurant. Breakfast that was included in the rate was also excellent, probably the best we had in Germany over the week we were there. There are other restaurants close by including a Vietnamese which was also very good and well priced. The town has more of a village style atmosphere, excellent museum, library and good walks along the canal. We were there to explore my ancestral roots from nearby Tucheim which we were able to get to by local bus. Everyone in the town was extremely helpful to me, all very friendly and helped me be introduced to distant cousins still living there. I have very fond memories of our time in Genthin, particularly the Hotel Stadt who made us feel very at home and were so patient with all our 'odd' questions given the nature of our visit and put up with us not being able to speak the language.

Amazing hospitality and staff service
Reviewed By rhett pWe stayed here when we were doing a cycle tour last year. We had gotten lost on the road, it was raining and evening was fast approaching, the chill setting in. We called the hotel and spoke to the owner, who's English wasn't great so he found a younger staff member with better English to speak to us, find out where we were located. Then they came out to pick us up! The owner drove 4km to get us, loaded our bikes onto the rack on the back of his van and provided us with towels and a hot thermos. When we got back to the hotel it was 9pm and they kept the kitchen open for us so that we could shower and then eat. As the menu was in German the owner had gotten the staff member we spoke to on the phone to retype it out into English for us. Lovely people and they really went out of their way for us and the hotel is well kept and tidy. Left a lasting impression on us all.

angenehmes Hotel
Reviewed By joergbackhaussehr nettes, angenehmes Hotel. Schönes Kaminzimmer mit Blick auf den See, besonders nett im Schnee. Saubere Zimmer, Frühstück ist reichlich und vielfältig.Alles in allem ein ruhiges, gepflegtes Hotel. Komme bestimmt wieder.
