Great Hotel, Great Location, Friendly Staff

Stayed here last night (5/26) while in the area on our Ireland road trip. Check in was very quick and easy, and the gentleman that checked us in was very friendly. He showed us to our room, which was a large room that looked to have been recently renovated. The room was large, comfortable, had a couch and large TV. The bathroom was large and had a great shower. The room had power outlets all over which made charging phones/tablets/battery chargers easy. The hotel also had a restaurant on site, but we didn't eat there since we were only in town for one night. Great stay and would recommend to anyone looking for a place in the area.

Fantastic hotel

I had the rooftop of the Commodore Hotel booked for my 40th birthday during the June Bank Holiday. The weather did not play ball & on the day I had to change my plans. While I was initially disappointed, I could not praise Sabrina & all the staff in the Commodore enough. Not only did Sabrina find an alternative solution to accommodate my party of 22, the new function room in the hotel actually worked out better. From start to finish, Sabrina & the staff oversaw all the details of the party and ensured we were all dealt with & accommodated fully. The meal was absolutely delicious & again, we were given a private dining space that allowed us to enjoy all the celebrations and enjoy time as a family. From start to finish, the day was superb and the attention to detail was the best I had experienced in recent times. We stayed in the hotel the night of the party & the bar and reception staff were an absolute pleasure to deal with. My Dad is 80 in a few months & I already want to book the hotel again. Thank you to Sabrina & all the staff for a very memorable 40th birthday. I really appreciate all your efforts.

Myself and my mum had the most relaxing time at Knockeven house. Pam is an amazing host. On arrival we were greeted with tea and homemade scones. She booked our restaurant for dinner, gave us all the tips on where to go, and made the most delicious breakfast for us. Couldn’t recommend Knockeven house enough, 10/10?

Cobh Rooms With A View

Cobh stay

We stayed here for a night whilst visiting cork. Free parking was difficult to find, up a steep hill and to be honest didn’t feel safe leaving the car there. The house was bang on the seafront, outstanding location so you can visit in the main sights in cobh very easily. The rooms were at the very top of the house. It is a VERY tall house. We were on the 4th floor. They have 2 rooms there and 2 rooms on the bottom. Bathroom hot water is Unreliable and not powerful at all. I was confused if breakfast is included or not. We weren’t sure so made our own arrangements as we had an early tour. The bed was extremely comfortable. Linen is good. Clean. The host, whilst trying to be helpful has a slight problem in actually listening to what the customer is saying. Communication is 2 way. Most worrying is the smoke alarms that are missing in ALL the rooms on the top floor. Normally I wouldn’t really care about such a thing, but when I’m staying in the top floor of an old house, it’s something which should be rectified.

One night stay

A small and busy hotel in a prime waterside location adjacent to the cruise ship terminal in Cobh, Cork Harbour. Free underground car parking on site. We had a waterfront room with a stunning view across the harbour. The room was very clean, spacious, light and airy, plus a good sized bathroom (walk-in shower). Dinner at the hotel was a bit disappointing - limited menu choices. Breakfast food quality was below par - not enough choice, and the omelettes we requested were dripping with cooking oil. Staff appeared disinterested and poorly managed.
