Disgusting Room
Reviewed By TerryScubaDiverWe paid £81 for room only expecting at least a clean room with a decent bathroom and shower. We arrived exhausted after a very long drive and had to wait while 2 coach loads of guests returned after us and we were told to wait while they checked in. When we did get to the room it was disgusting. We opend the window and the frame was rotten and covered in mold. Dinner was available after the coach party sitting and was a set menu with little choice. If we had not been so exhausted we would have demanded a refund and left. The shower was a cold trickle. All in all a very bad experience we will never repeat

The Village Inn, Arrochar has 14 en-suite bedrooms all of which provide fresh, comfortable and welcoming double accommodation. They are all tastefully decorated and furnished in a traditional rustic style. Each room has tea and coffee making facilities and luxury toiletries. The 2 superior rooms in the main building offer stunning views over Loch Long and the "Arrochar Alps". We have a traditional Scottish pub on site serving local ales and a restaurant offering freshly prepared food.

Reviewed By 0h_jenniferVisited on Saturday for as staying away in the area. A really homely place to have dinner. Good portion sizes and quick service. Staff always present but not invasive. Speedy bar service with a really wide selection of drinks. Thank you for looking after us!

Walking and hiking are also popular activities in the area.
Sad hotel in need of some serious TLC
Reviewed By P9676XFjohnhSad hotel in need of some TLC. Stayed here one night with family and tour bus driver. Rooms smelt stale and possibly of cigarette smoke. Beds were uncomfortable and more than one of the mattresses should have been replaced some years ago. Mine in particular sank down by 60% of its depth and was very lumpy. View from our room was the back yard full of trash that could easily have been cleaned up. Warning to mobility impaired. I did not see an easy way to access the hotel except up two short flights of steps. May want to check if you need special access. Fix those issues and clean the place up and you have a nice hotel on the shores of Loch Long, not far from Loch Lomond. Prices are also very reasonable. Plenty of free parking.

Worst Hotel Ever Stayed At
Reviewed By Gary MA dirty faulty towers. Chaos on check-in. After walking Ben Nevis no rooms ready at 530pm. A group having an 80th birthday party had been waiting over 2 hours for their rooms and eventually gave up and went to another hotel. After we got a room it was dirty, a tiny amount of toilet paper (near fully used roll), no cups, un vacuumed floor and head and pubic hairs all around the shower. This was our 6th hotel on our tour of Scotland and by a million miles the worst. Definitely would NOT recommend this hotel. We paid £99 for a double room. A hostel would have provided better value and a much cleaner room. The owner of this hotel needs to sort his business out. I can't believe anyone can run such as poor hotel.

Reviewed By Ian Tgood B&B with wonderful views of the Loch, breakfast was good, staff friendly and service good. pub next does bar food but other restaurants in easy walking distance. we parked in front of the B&B but appears to be parking at the back as well

Rowantreebank B&B is a friendly, family run property overlooking Loch Long and the Arrochar Alps. The area is popular with walkers, fishermen, bird watchers and divers. We are just over a mile from Loch Lomond, 40 minutes from Glasgow airport and a great location to explore the West Coast from. We have single, twin, double and family ensuite rooms and offer a good choice of breakfasts. We look forward to seeing you soon. Dave & Angie.

Reviewed By Mary VThe view is amazing and there is a lovely garden up around the side of the house where you can sit and relax! The bed in our room was super comfortable and the hosts were very friendly. They gave us good suggestions about places to go locally and things to see along the route of our ten day journey through the country. The breakfast was delicious and our hosts even surprised me with a birthday cake after the meal.
