Beautiful shrine and adjacent holy well of St Winifrede, that continues to be blessed with an air of sanctity and holiness. The main buildings are medieval and the well water has healing properties. There is a shop and refreshment room nearby with a car park across the road. Pilgrims can take away as much well water as required, providing they bring their own container(s). This is the only holy well in the country with and unbroken tradition of pilgrimage since the fifth century. I can thoroughly recommend a visit.

Lovely, well maintained grounds. Beautiful and calming place. You could spend a lot of hours here checking out the different architecture and dreaming of harsh living conditions. Out of doors so really only for a fine and/or sunny day. Bit overcast when we wer there but sitll a great afternnon out.
