I love this pub. My mate lives in Petersfield and we pay it a visit just about every time I visit. Every time I go in I love it a little bit more. We sat in the bar last night and the locals and their dogs made us feel really welcome and invited us to join in with their conversation. The landlord pulled a great pint, in my favourite keg shaped pint pot and the conversation was lively and the laughter genuine. We arrived at 18.00 and expected to leave at 19.30 to get home to watch the football but enjoyed ourselves so much that we stayed until 21.00 when the pub closed. I cannot imagine going to Petersfield and not popping into this absolute gem. Just remember to bring your cash. It won't be for everyone but it does just fine by me.

A beautiful quiet garden in the middle of a busy Hampshire market town, with many old English herbs and plants and a small orchard. There are many seats for quiet contemplation and meditation or a picnic from one of the excellent places in Petersfield such as Madeleines deli.

Petersfield Lake

Reviewed By mikesH8198OT - Petersfield, United Kingdom

We live 10 minutes walk from this lovely place, and it takes about 20 minutes to walk around its shores. If you want a quiet peaceful walk, go early morning, you'll see the geese and swans still resting and meet only a few dog walkers. If you have young kids, then take them to the swings and they will beg to stay longer. If you are needing a coffee or ice cream, then call in at the Piump Duck. If you want to spot an exotic resident, then go to the east side and look for the terrapins. On a summer evening you will see spectacular sunsets across the south downs from here. On a Sunday Afternoon it attracts the crowds, running and happy children, hiring the rowing boats and families with picnics. And, of course, its free!.

St Peter's Church and Petersfield Town Square form the centre of the lovely market town of Petersfield. The church is open daily and there are plenty of places around to the main town Square to eat and shop.
