5 Things to do Good for Adrenaline Seekers in Mossel Bay That You Shouldn't Miss

August 5, 2021 Roseanne Arnett

Mossel Bay is a harbour town of about 130,000 people on the Southern Cape (or Garden Route) of South Africa. It is an important tourism and farming region of the Western Cape Province. Mossel Bay lies 400 kilometres east of the country's seat of parliament, Cape Town (which is also the capital city of the Western Cape Province), and 400 km west of Port Elizabeth, the largest city in the Eastern Cape Province. The older parts of the town occupy the north-facing side of the Cape St Blaize Peninsula, whilst the newer suburbs straddle the Peninsula and have spread eastwards along the sandy shore of the Bay.

The reserve offers a special outride for experienced riders it was a lovely 3.5 hour ride. I was able to get very close to the the animals and experience nature as it's best! My guide was very knowledgeable and pointed out all sorts of animals from beetles to the white rhino and explained about animal conservation as well as the flora and fauna. The horses are well trained and look happy and healthy the saddle are endurance the reins are western. The lions are currently kept separate together with with elephants Understandably that's not somewhere were the horses want to go, so on an outride you won't see either, but there is still loads to see and who knows as Botlierskop is about to merge the 2 enclosures together so it might change and you just avoid the area where the lions are. Hope they still can offer outrides or at least horse riding safaris, I think there is no better way to see wildlife up close.
