Mosquitos in rooms
Reviewed By KGB777I had the use of a room here during the day on a trip through Ciudad Bolivar recently. The hotel is located about 20 mins walk from the centre, and there's not much in the immediate vicinity in terms of alternative places to eat. Hotel restaurant is ok and has a good view to the cathedral in the centre. Rooms were pretty basic and not so clean. But the main area of concern was the quantity of mosquitos in the room: ended up with a lot of bites bring plenty of repellant if you are staying here!

4. Uraima Falls Lodge
The rustic designed lodge has 3-private thatched roofed cabins (the locals call them churuatas). Each cabin has two rooms with two beds in each. Each cabin shares a bathroom (no hot water). In the main "churuata" they serve three meals daily. The open design makes guests feel like they are being hosted in a private and exclusive club in the middle of the rainforest. They also have two large open design churuatas where you can enjoy a siesta. There is 24-hour water (electricity is available after 6pm at the lodge with the use of a power plant).
