An ounce of action is worth a ton of theory! I say this because many of friends have had very poor program experience elsewhere. Most spent days in classroom learning the theory of seamanship from very proud and experienced instructors before ever setting a foot on the boat. With Matt and Captain Jeff we were sailing on day one, making 7.5kts shorthanded on day two, taking tests AFTER having practical experience, which made so much more sense. USCG registered Captain Jeff is an amazing instructor and experienced sailor who made sure everything we did during the day matched the curriculum of ASA courses. In the end, after a week of practice we walked away confident in our ability to operate a 44’ catamaran, with completed certifications for ASA 101, 103, 104 and 114, with full 7 days of live-aboard, motoring, sailing, docking, mooring, and anchoring experience. We will never look to any other training provider, so as long as Tortola Sailing is able to provide courses.

We recently took the Fast Track to Cruising course from Offshore Sailing School and it was all they advertise and everything we expected. The two instructors we had made the information interesting and fun to learn. Although we knew how to sail, we learned so much to improve our skills. The islands we visited were just beautiful beyond words and the Scrub Island Resort treated us like royalty. Although the classes are a tad pricey when taken in the BVIs its money well spent. If you're looking to learn how to sail or improve your sailing skills, I highly recommend Offshore Sailing School.
