Reviewed By Gilles BThis is a small hotel with a very friendly atmosphere. Located about 20 km south of Munich in the tranquil little town of Gauting, and 10 km north of the "Starnberger See", it is a perfect starting point to visit Munich, only 25mn away by train. The station is about one kilometer away, an easily walkable distance, and trains run at least three times an hour until late at night.It's also a little over one hour to reach the Neuschwanstein castle and the surrounding villages have a serene and quiet atmosphere about them. The Andechs abbey for example is well worth a stop. There is private guest parking available in the front of the hotel and there is little traffic so no nuisances there. We slept like babies and felt heartily welcome. Rooms were equipped with typical Bavarian wooden furniture and were spotlessly, and I mean spotlessly clean. Bathrooms too ( we had two rooms). Breakfast was excellent, with a great choice of teas, fruits, yogurts, cereals, eggs, cheese, delicatessen, various sorts of bread. Best way to start the day! All told everything was perfect!

Reviewed By csc-onlineWir waren schon oft dort zum Essen, leider war diesmal, direkt nach der Wiedereröffnung, das Essen geschmacklich nicht besonders. Die Nudeln waren besonders fad. Der Schweinebraten hatte nur eine labbrige Kruste und nur einen kleinen harten Knödel. Der Krautsalat und die Spargelsuppe hingegen waren gut. Wir hoffen, dass das ein Ausrutscher war und sich die Küche nach der langen Schließzeit wieder einspielt.

Reviewed By KAMWe had a nice room with bath at the hotel. It is in a great location as you can walk to the nearby train station and it's an easy train ride into Munich. The hotel is in the village of Gauting and there are many things in easy walking distance - markets, shops, post office, bank and restaurants. We ate at the hotel's restaurant Zum Baren - enjoyed our evening, nice atmosphere. We had an excellent dinner and the staff was wonderful, very friendly. The hotel also provides a nice buffet breakfast in the morning as part of your rate. The staff at the desk were friendly and helpful. We really enjoyed our stay - thank you.

Uriger Landgasthof mit bestem Schweinekrustenbraten der Welt
Reviewed By MarkusOlafUnser dreitägiger Aufenthalt im Landgasthof Haller hat wirklich Spaß gemacht. Das Zimmer war sauber und sehr geräumig. Auch die alte knarzende Holztreppe hat ihren Charme. Das Frühstück ist zwar nicht vergleichbar mit Buffets von großen Hotels aber es gab immer superfrische Brötchen und eine schöne Auswahl an Käse , Wurst und Schinken aus der Region, warme Bioeier und die üblichen Cerealien ect. Der Chef des Hauses ist immer ansprechbar und das Personal sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend. Schöner kleiner Wirtsgarten und den besten Schweinekrustenbraten der Welt. Gut gelegen um München, Andechs und den Starnberger See zu besuchen. Hinfahren!!!
