Vladimir Putin's country residence
Reviewed By Ron BI was on a bicycle tour from Moscow to St. Petersburg. On this day, my group was supposed to cycle about 20 miles through the National Park Valdaiskiy, but we got rained out. Instead we drove the route in a van; it is moderately scenic, heavily forested dirt road, with an interesting monastery on a lake, the Valday Iversky monastery founded in 1653 (photo attached). We stayed in the Valdayskie Zori hotel in Valday on the lake, a nice spot and a decent hotel and dining room, and optional lakeside dining, which we did after the rain stopped and we had cycled to the monastery. The most interesting aspect of this day was due to the nearby residence of the President of Russia, evidently a favorite of Vladimir Putin. We happened to be there on June 22, the anniversary of the WWII Nazi Germany invasion of Russia. Apparently Mr. Putin was in his nearby residence, as his helicopter crew, both the pilots and stewardesses, were staying in our hotel and ate breakfast there while we were in our hotel dining room. Later in the day we heard the helicopter take off, accompanied by a 12 gun salute (rifle shots). This traditional Russian salute was apparently from the local war memorial that you find in every village in the area commemorating WWII dead; this area was on the battle front. The village memorials are worth a visit; they list the names of victims, and usually there is more than one victim from each family. I have attached a photo of one of these memorials.

Reviewed By Anatoliy797Был в начале Апреля, все понравилось. Идеальное место что бы провести время с семьей. Чисто в номерах, большая кухня. Не сколько санузлов. На улице есть место для барбекю. Так же в 150 метрах находится набережная с видовым кафе на Валдайское озеро. Есть куда сходить погулять, все рядом, все понравилось

Чудесный отель
Reviewed By sofiamm2018Отдых в отеле очень понравился. Есть все необходимое, чтобы замечательно отдохнуть. Номер очень уютный, есть кухня со всем необходимым для готовки, телевизор, wifi, парковка на территории. Есть сауна и всесезонная беседка , где можно кушать приготовленные на мангале шашлыки. Музеи, озеро - все рядом.
