Moravia (/mɔːˈreɪviə, -ˈrɑː-, moʊ-/ maw-RAY-vee-ə, -RAH-, moh-; Czech: Morava; German: Mähren (help·info); Polish: Morawy; Latin: Moravia) is a historical country in the Czech Republic (forming its eastern part) and one of the historical Czech lands, together with Bohemia and Czech Silesia. The medieval and early modern Margraviate of Moravia was a crown land of the Lands of the Bohemian Crown (from 1348 to 1918), an imperial state of the Holy Roman Empire (1004 to 1806), later a crown land of the Austrian Empire (1804 to 1867) and briefly also one of 17 former crown lands of the Cisleithanian part of the Austro-Hungarian Empire from 1867 to 1918. During the early 20th century, Moravia was one of the five lands of Czechoslovakia from 1918 to 1928; it was then merged with Czech Silesia, and eventually dissolved by abolition of the land system in 1949.

We've been going there for the last few years with our kids. They love the zoo. Not big, though. Not a place to spend a few hours but the trip is worthwhile (outside major cities and motorways). Not an expert myself but you can see a wide selection of parrots and the staff seem ready to discuss or consult anything you would like to know. You can also have a rest in a small cafe or visit a gift shop. But remember they don't accept credit cards.

A really well done zoo with many very modern exhibits. The clear highlight is the enormous sun bear enclosure which is beautifully done, has many different viewing opportunities and is one of the best I have ever seen. Their two young sun bears Adam and Aja are very active and show really well to the public and who I was fortunate enough to enjoy hand feeding. There has clearly been a lot of recent investment into building the zoo up and it has been done wonderfully. It is exceptionally attractive. The Hokkaido garden is very picturesque and Africa and Australia sections are really nice. The collection is good, especially with regards to small cat species. This is a really great zoo.

The zoo's more than 500 mammals, reptiles, birds and amphibians include creatures from every continent except Antarctica.
Really nice Zoo, recently refurbished, creative zones, up on the hill , loads of animals to see. I am not really fan of Zoo's, but we had a great time with my friends and mostly girl(5)- daughter of my friend. It has an interactive games for kids too.
