Big nice room
Reviewed By Ana DThe highlight of this resort was the room, nicely concieved, big, with a separate living room and a separate bathtube. The environment is ok, staff is nice. The breakfast was bad, really needs to improve. But the food in the restaurant was ok. In all, it was a pleasent stay.

Reviewed By CharlieandNixWhat a shame. If you go onto the website of this hotel it promises three things: an 18 hole golf course, a Chinese and Western restaurant and a swimming pool. Sounds too good to be true for the price? There is a simple reason for that: it is too good to be true! There is no 18 hole golf course, just a driving range; the restaurant is only open for breakfast, and is solely Chinese, You can't even get a beer in the evening, and the swimming pool? Well I am sure that newts and frogs would enjoy it given the mouldy green stuff floating on the surface, but being neither, we didn't. Worst aspect: when we did raise these issues with them (and yes, a few do speak basic English, but our miming skills were developed to expert levels!) they just said it wasn't their fault what agents and web sites said - this is what they did. Requests to speak to the manager/owner - anybody, brushed off. No attempt to do anything with our feedback. Saddest aspect: we have been in China for nearly a year so are very used to Chinese hotels and are not making these comments lightly. Even sadder, most of the staff try to be helpful, and if the hotel told the truth: that it is actually a pleasant get away from it all b&b, a kind of peaceful haven with nice grounds and good rooms outside the hustle and bustle of Guilin itself, then we would rated it higher. Say even a 4. But rated against what it says about itself on the website, a 1 is about right. In England it would be a prosecution under the trades description act.

Beautiful Setting, but musty room.
Reviewed By douglasengleThis is an amazing forest lodge in a spectatular setting, on a secondary road to Yangshuo from Guilin. Its has a beautiful garden behind it which takes at least an hour to walk through. The physical infrastructure is also very good, with a large dining hall. Our room was tastefully decorated with a nice veranda and view of the forest, but the drawback of the forest setting is that everything remains cool and damp, including the room. it was extremely musty. I would stay here again only if that could be avoided. Also, there is no elevator to the room we had. Not an issue for me, but could be for someone with mobility issues.

Good beach location
Reviewed By Sheltie85We stayed at this hotel on 2 occasions during a visit to the area, it was a last minute booking at a very good discount as it was out of season. Although the hotel is mainly used for training courses spare rooms are available to the public. Our room was a typical business room, quite large, the Chinese beds were on the hard side but this is the norm. The booking included breakfast, there was a large choice of dishes so although not western style we always found something tasty to eat. The reception staff speak little English but probably don't get many non-Chinese visitors. The hotel is directly on a very large sandy beach and just a short walk along the shore to several small restaurants serving excellent freshly cooked seafood.

Reviewed By BasilandGood value for money. We stayed in an apartment with three rooms for six of us. There is also a living room and small kitchen. No problems during our 16 nights stay. Staff only speak Mandarin or Cantonese. Had Dim Sum every morning during our stay although there is also a buffet breakfast for 28 yuan. Will be back for sure if visiting Beihai again.

Reviewed By Bella7291we find this hotel at tripadvisor, really helpful.... to find the hotel was a bit tricky, coz was inside small alley... and we need to climb few stairs... we founf the hotel was small n we look inside the rooms was cute n small.. good for bagpackers... no view, they charge 100 pernight.. but we were looking for the view... so we took the 5th floor... wooooooowww, we know now the reason they put the hotel ontop of the hill, so they can get the vieq of the city... we really enjoy it... we pay 245 rmb for the 5th floor,.have great view, peacefull, toilet clean, 2 twin bed, terrace, flat tv, water heater, very very excellent wifi, it was just woooww... the second night we move to the 4th floor, have 1 room with tue same view, we pay 180 rmb.. have terrace. so at night we can sit outside and enjoy the view n relaax.... the place also very near too the west street just accross the street.... this hotel its for people who appreciated standard value of price n can enjoy... but for people looking for good place with high service n cheap price, better dont come , later will not appreciate, better just go to 5 stars hotel. but for us it is a very nice place to stay.. even the staff its friendly....

Male part felt toilet jamed when pooping!
Reviewed By Ryan Z0. Got room key but couldn't open the door, back to the counter with no any sigh of apologies. 1. Air-con have no hot air! Cold and bad sleep first night. 2. Room have very week wifi signal, had to change to another room. 3.Guess what part of my male part body acquired the knowledge of the toilet blocking when I was pooping? That's right, it's on the title. 4.Complained. Changed a upgraded room. When I moved in, a toilet pumping stick abruptly standing on the commode. "Is this a protest?" 5.Mosquitos are around, walls are peeling and hot water come out late. 6.Complained again, thought their meaning was "free buffet"; reality turns out "discounted buffet", after buffet realised 90rmb per person and innegociable. No English speaker, poor service; complain dealer is a marketing manager, no hall manager; good standard mandarin female speaker staff at the counter though.
