Very impressed

Reviewed By Esther M

I have stayed at a few Super 8's before and this was was by far my favourite. Even though it is right on a very busy main street, it's incredibly quiet due to its placement and being beside a residential street. The grassy areas beside and behind it were great for my dog and I really appreciated that they had designated garbage buckets for pet waste. The room was very clean, bed was comfortable, and it had a microwave as well which does not always happen in other hotels. Also bonus points for having a Starbucks next door! Only things to note - if you are picky about your pillows consider bringing your own in. I found mine were a little too large for my liking. As well, you can hear people moving around above your room if you are ground level so if you are a light sleeper maybe bring ear plugs. I would 100% stay there again and have already recommended my family stay there when they come through town in October.

Scrupulously clean

Reviewed By ScottandJodi

This appears to be just another older motel but don't let that fool you. The rooms are scrupulously clean and decorated in modern colours and NO CARPET, which makes it feel even cleaner. We were very impressed with the Covid precautions and cleaning techniques we observed. The room and bed were super comfortable and there were even real glasses for our tot of bourbon! Nicely located near restaurants and a grocery store. It's on the main drag but wasn't noisy at all. Would definitely recommend this one and stay here again ourselves if we are ever passing through.

Clean, Easy Access and Reasonable Price

I wanted something on the east side of the city in order to continue on to Toronto the following day. I booked online simply based on price and was not disappointed. The place is older, but well maintained. Fast check-in completed with a friendly fellow. There are a variety of choices in terms of food in the immediate area - mostly fast food - so that worked well. BTW, check out the cheap(er) gas just down the road and slightly off the highway on your way out of town. It saved me a few bucks.

As we continue our Cross-Canada road trip, once again we chose a small, family-run motel instead of a large chain. As we continue to battle through this Covid pandemic, we feel it’s important to support local business. I regret giving this motel a poor rating because the people who run it are lovely. But sadly, this motel needs major attention. The outside common areas are dirty and worn. The stairs to the second floor were suspect. The room was clean enough but very dated and gloomy. Of all the places we stayed going and coming back from BC to NS, this one stood out. We would not return.

A Good Night's Stay

I rated this hotel higher than average due to the great service and the reasonable rate. You can tell that the owners have upgraded the hotel inside from something that probably was quite old. There is still a little show of wear and tear but it's nothing major. The room was clean and comfortable.

Disappointed big time

Reviewed By 409rickr

We were cross country skiing in the area and wanted to try the place out again after probably 40 years. We thought that they must be doing something right to survive. Not so. 1. Cold room took 4 hours to heat. Apparently there are so few customers that no rooms were heated in anticipation of getting new guests. Room temp was about 50F. Baseboard heating is great but takes time to get going. 2. Room had a noisy drive thru A&W pickup lane directly behind building we were in. We could have been put in a unit further from road as only a couple of guests were in the place. 3. It has color TV! But it was something from the 80's with poor video quality. Not the common flat screen you normally find. 4. You might want to bring your own soap. The Adam's provides 1 only of the smallest and thinnest soap we have ever seen. 5. You may also want to bring your own kleenex as none was provided 6. Ice had to be fetched from office and they only permitted one scoop of crushed ice for our cooler. 7. Bathtub had curved bottom. Could cause a fall when showering. 8. No microwave oven. Had to go to office for that. On the bright side, bath fixtures were newer and the room was clean. Cost was not reflective of a spartan style room at $99 plus Canadian taxes. We do not recommend the Adam's Hotel considering the current alternatives in the Soo, Ontario vicinity. We think the elderly owners would do well to sell this valuable location and enjoy life elsewhere.
