Great place to lay my head after a full day's work and an evening of traveling!

I always love these 1950s style 'motor on inns' that someone has seen the potential in and invested their time and money. This place is a great example. Situated down town the construction makes it a little difficult to get to from the north, but it's well worth it. Check in was in a nice large lobby where it's clear a continental breakfast is available in the morning. The gentleman who served me was very polite, professional and efficient. I provided my identification, and credit card and was off to my room. I stayed in room 110. Ground floor. Parking out front. The room is a great size and has clearly been renovated recently. You'll find USB outlets, a flat screen TV and 2 queen beds. WiFi is also included. The bathroom is nothing special, but clean, fairly modern and with a low tub wall for those with some mobility issues. Not unlike European hotels the vanity and sink area are outside of the bathroom. There is also a small refrigerator a microwave and a complimentary coffee maker in the room. The landscaping outside is a nice compliment to the overall tidy, modern and well kept property. Bravo! Would absolutely recommend this place to the tired traveler passing through, contractor, family or weekend getaway enthusiasts!

Okay stay

We stayed here in early May for three nights from Wednesday to Saturday, while attending a dance competition. The rooms were clean and the front desk staff that checked us in was great. The elevator however was sketchy at best, it made noises each time we took it. And we got stuck between floors two and three one night on the way down to get snacks. My husband is a millwright and suggested that the counterblance sounds like it is off. The rooms are small but the beds are comfortable and the bathrooms are well sized.

We only spent one night. Based on the other reviews I’m going to guess this place was impacted by COVID. There appear to be people living at the hotel. Our room was clean. The bed was comfortable. But if things are run down a bit it’s the little things that matter. The coffee maker and tray were not clean. The carpet at the door was from the dollar store and should have been replaced. The coffee table was broken (just remove it). Most of the holes in the wall were patched but a coat of paint would have done wonders. The ceiling had been patched from water damage but not finished. The bathroom was redone and would have been amazing except you stopped short of either replacing the tub or having bath fitter in to cover it. We won’t stay again. If we had our daughter with us we wouldn’t have stayed at all. It’s unfortunate. The family who run it seem lovely.

We ask for refund but owner didn’t accept. - the matress was totally destroyed. - the futon was less than one inch thick and feel sleep on the steel frame. - We suppose to have kitchen… the fridge was smaller than my cooler.

Motel getting some TLC and needed upgrades but still a work in progress.

Reviewed By MVSPtbo

Motel appears to be in the midst of a transformation. Upgrades and improvements include new windows (great for soundproofing the road), new floors and a new sink area. While the layout of the room was peculiar (I’m always confused when the bathroom sink is in a different area than the bathroom but in this case it also serves as the kitchen sink so guess that makes more sense than having a coffee maker in the bathroom…) it is quite spacious and painted in a light colour scheme to aid in the sense of space. Some minor housekeeping elements missing (no coffee cups, water and only one chair for sitting inside, no place for snowy boots and stuff to dry out) I imagine these small things will get improved upon over time. Snow management outside the rooms Could also use some TLC but appears there had been carpet once on the landing so likely need that fully removed to be able to shovel properly. The price was appropriate and the location perfect for a walk downtown or ventures to the natural attractions upraise of town.

We visited Port Carling for first time in August 2021. We were recommended to stay at the Crestwood Inn and Gary was lovely. Our room was clean and comfortable, but it lacked air conditioning which made for an uncomfortable night sleep. We had to sleep with our windows open but we had little sleep with the neighbours on their deck chairs very close to our windows on the shared veranda.

Update to prior review about Room 26 that had a mouse

Reviewed By st8one

I registered a complaint with Wyndham Customer Service who told me it could be up to six weeks before they replied. After six weeks, I reached out again. They told me that I would need to resolve my issue with the management of the hotel and that they could not help me. The manager had already lied to me and told me he couldn't get in touch with the owner when he actually was the owner! I am very disappointed with Wyndham and will not be staying in any of their hotels in the future including Days Inn, Super 8, Ramada, Howard Johnson, Travelodge, because Wyndham provides less than adequate customer support and service.
