Reviewed By Alan COne of the best motels l have stayed in for a long time. stayed in a studio well appointed good bed good couch to sit on good size TV everything u need for a good stay good friendly staff. Well done team. Lovely pub a cross the road but had a disappointing meal piad $17 for 1/2 a bowl of sea food chowder and 1 slice of toast. And $22 for a burger about the size of a slider and a few chips had to go to mackers for a feed afterwards so eating elsewhere.

We'll be back due to the men of group needing to see more of the transport museum.

Very disappointed with management responsiveness and ignorance

However, the motel checked us out from our room without any attempt to contact us on day 2 when my husband and I were out enjoying a private tour of the Catlin cost. The motel staff touched all our belongings, including toiletries, packed a bag, and threw most of the fresh foods that we bought for supper for the night and breakfast for the following day. The motel blamed us for this incident simply because my husband had handed the key to the reception staff before heading out for the tour. Well, we did not ask them to check us out we asked them to keep the room key in the reception until we return from the tour. After a long conversation with the onsite manager, we finally received a room key but not the same room we stayed in on our 1st night. The manager also handed our luggage packed by a motel staff and a plastic bag with some food items that were not being thrown away for some reason. We wrote a complaint email to the management team about this incident upon returning from our holiday. However, the first and the last response that we had received was still the same, blaming us instead of apologizing. We wrote back to ask for formal apologies and compensation for the food items they have decided to throw away. But they have ignored us, and we haven't heard back from them in multiple attempts. I am very upset that the motel management still hasn't apologized, and they rather blamed the quests. This absurd thing happened in this motel. Compensate us for the foods that the birch wood manor motel arbitrarily removed when were traveling. I booked a 1bedroom apartment, but there was no bathtub. 27~29/Nov/2021

A little Noisy
Reviewed By GrantT372We stayed here while on a South Island biking trip. The Unit was clean but needed a decent mattress. The one in place was far to soft and felt like a waterbed and we didn't sleep well. The motel is on a main road and was somewhat noisy well into the night. Price was reasonable. Manager/ owner was friendly. The location was not ideal for us either. Would we stay again?. We'd have to say No.

It was all true the place is very close to town, very clean and the staff, kind and friendly. Beds (big and comfortable) were made each day, towels replace. would highly recommend.
