We really enjoyed this grand old inn on the main street and it's proprietor Sean. He gave us all a custom map of Cape Breton with notable places of interest on the Cabot trail. Everyone we chatted with in this town were so friendly(and all knew Sean!)

Tired building but lovely staff

Reviewed By nrocho688461

I think we were supposed to ask for the rooms to be made because in the four days we were there, no one came to clean or empty the garbage in either of the two rooms we booked. The staff was always very pleasant and friendly. It's just the building that's tired. Oh, and the billing process is way too complicated. There were four transactions to my card. As the reception staff was explaining to me, I could hear the other young lady on the phone having to explain it all to someone else. We weren't the only ones confused. The staff must waste a lot of time having to explain the billing procedures that the Travelodge company decided to go with. The breakfast was bagged and easy to get from the reception area. As mentioned earlier, the staff was always lovely! :)

Staff friendly and helpful. Lovely place right by the water with low windows and seating to make most of the view from the room. Plenty of tea and coffee. Parts of the room were a bit dusty and there was a slight smell of damp but we were there late may before the season got going.

Very basic

Reviewed By Canadian_tourist12

We stayed in a motel room. The room had a strong unidentified smell that we were not able to get rid of eve when we aired the room for hours. The temp. in the room was 28C when we checked in and we barely managed to get in down to 25 by the morning with all the windows open. The view from the room is great but this was a sleepover stop so we did not take advantage of it. It got dark early and everything around closed early so no places to get real dinner.

Rundown and overpriced

Reviewed By RestlessAlways

I stayed here for 2 nights in June in a unit on the main road. While the location is good, the property is very rundown on the outside and not much better on the inside. Room was grungy: old stained upholstered chairs, old thin velvet curtains, and a dirty floor. The beds were comfortable, however the light pouring in all night through the beveled glass window of the door (there was no window covering) was not conducive to sleep. There was no housekeeping nor clean towels provided for the second night's stay (they blamed it on Covid). I would not recommend this property.

Thank you Mary Claire and Charles. We had a memorable and most comfortable stay at Hebridean Motel this Thanksgiving Holiday 2020. The suite was so cozy and perfect for us to enjoy a quiet lounge and breakfast , since we had another family couple in another room in the motel , within a hop skip and jump. The accommodation was clean , thoughtful and just right in providing handy needs in the kitchenette. As for the location ,besides being peaceful was strategic for us to cover the entire Cabot Trail , in the short span of 2 days. We got lucky to find your motel, for there are some fine restaurants in the vicinity too. We would certainly like to return on our next visit, and will recommend you to our folks . Thanks again for your hospitality and friendly attention. Cheers.
