I visited the hotel in October as a business traveller for an extended stay. It was an absolutely fantastic experience. Trendy hotel “Munich Rooms” is an excellent home away from home in Schwabing in the heart of Munich. I loved the amazing interior design! Munich Rooms features beautifully furnished bedrooms, which are maximized in terms of amenities, the bed is incredibly comfy and the shower is great. There are lots of shops right outside the hotel as well as lovely restaurants. I’d definitely stay again. Thanks to the owners for all their consideration.

Ferienparadies Alpengluhn

Apartments in Berchtesgaden with spa facilities and personal service With the four apartments in Berchtesgaden, host Peter Juhre created a small but beautiful idyll amidst the alpine landscape. Apartments, a spa area, a garden with pool, Jacuzzi and view of the Watzmann Mountain offer the perfect retreat for a holiday in Bavaria, where you are personally pampered by the host with numerous additional benefits and culinary delights. In the Finnish sauna, during massages, cosmetics, physiotherapy and therapeutic treatments, you can extensively relax after hiking or winter sports. All treatments can be enjoyed on request in your apartment! The four apartments in Berchtesgaden and a guest room convince with exclusive comfort and modern facilities. The apartments are 55 to 70 m² in size: Two apartments can accommodate 2 guests; the other two are for 2-4 guests.

Multiple stays here, love it! Great apartment, views, food and owners!

We have stayed at Ferienparadies Alpengluhn 3 times in the past 2 years, and we have loved every visit. Each of the 3 apartments we have stayed in have been slightly different, but all very well furnished, lots of kitchen equipment, comfortable sofas and beds. They also all have a balcony or patio with wonderful mountain views. We find it really useful to have the kitchen to make lunches for hiking even though we typically don't make evening meals in them (although you absolutely could). Location wise, it's slightly outside the town-centre but walkable in around 15 minutes. There is plenty of parking on-site, useful to get your equipment back to your room. Views from the apartments are fantastic - all apartments face the mountains. There is a pool and hot tub outside, which are heated all year round, and in the summer months the restaurant is outside with patio heaters and sunshades. Food is fantastic, and is consistently some of the best we have had in Germany. Each day a new 3-course meal is constructed, where you can choose between a few options, all of which have been delicious. We have also been there for BBQ and traditional German buffet nights, again delicious! You don't have to eat here, and you just tell them each day whether you are planning to be there on the evening, and there is no pressure either way. But, I recommend you at least try the food early in your trip - you might want to eat here often!! I have seen a few comments about breakfast. We have never had the breakfast here, preferring just to grab something light ourselves and prepare ourselves in our kitchen, and I have never felt pressure to do anything else but the option is there if you do want it provided (and surely that's the best of both worlds?). My final comments are in relation to Peter, the owner. Over our visits we have experienced absolutely first-class service from Peter, and the whole team. Peter is available to give you advice on hikes, restaurants (which they will happily book for you), travel directions and is so warm, welcoming and friendly. We often email Peter prior to our booking and he gets back so quickly with ideas and suggestions. As we are from the UK, we have been really affected by COVID travel restrictions and Peter is always willing to be flexible wherever possible. Peter (and Petra), thank you for your wonderful hospitality! If you want a great base for hiking, where you can relax on an evening with great food and drinks, but still have a little more space in your own apartment to relax too, then I can't recommend Ferienparadies Alpengluhn enough.

I was lucky enough to have this hotel/restaurant recommended to me by a local - I was so glad! Admittedly, a big reason for giving 5 stars here was the evening meal at the restaurant, which was as good as I have eaten anywhere (including at some very high class places), but the hotel building was so nice, with interesting features, and the value was such that I could give no less than top marks. The hotel is not pretentious in any way; the rooms are not huge, but they have all that you need for a comfortable night. The staff were very friendly and made me feel genuinely welcome. Rather than being modern and clinical, the hotel has a far more rustic feel, and even just being shown to my room I was impressed with the place. All of the rooms on the front of the building have a shared balcony, with a screen to keep out any beasties, which was a nice bonus. The food is delicious, without feeling the need to give a tiny child's portion stacked up in an 'artful' way. Local produce is served, including their own trout (the oven-baked version served with gnocchi is definitely recommended) and the local Weiss beer goes down well too! Having a large outdoor eating area, coupled with the warm dry weather only added to the experience. Sleep quality was fine with the exception of the overly soft pillows that seem to be the norm in my limited experience with German hotels - 2 of them folded in half still felt like I had no support. I didn't notice any traffic noise (though I routinely take ear plugs on my trips now). Breakfast is available from 6.30 and was in my opinion slightly limited, though to be fair I still felt full from the previous evening (that dessert was so unnecessary!) so I was happy enough. My colleague took me for some freshly made pretzels which topped my up in time for my flight anyway. The biggest shock was checking out.... bed and breakfast came to only... 45 Euros!!! Now I am not sure if this was a mate's rate, as my colleague was a regular, but I was blown away. Add in the evening meal for 2 (including salad courses, coffee/dessert and a couple of beers each) and the total bill came to less than 100 Euro - a far cry from the previous night, where B&B for me only, was 144 Euro! The Bavarian landscape and architecture are very nice indeed, and if you are travelling in the vicinity of this hotel/restaurant it would be a crime not to pop in for at least a meal.

Don’t waste your money

Poor accomodation and stingy owners make a stay here a nightmare. The shower in our room was mouldy, unventilated (overhead fan was filled with dust), unlit and broken, so that we had to hold the shower head. Takes thirty minutes to get to the city by car (no public transport nearby, 2 hour walk otherwise) - €50 round trip, which would otherwise have paid for nicer accomodation in the city. Have to pay minimum €10 for weak wifi, plus €5 per night. No restaurants in sight, no quaint buildings, no shops except car dealerships, and DONT BELIEVE THEM when they say they aren’t near monuments, situated in an industrial neighbourhood. NOTHING TO DO HERE! BYO soap. Beds were dusty and room smelled of damp, so we had to sleep with the window open (it was 2oC outside). Finally, the no refunds policy only seemed like a stingy money grab for the owners, without them improving the conditions at all. We left one night into a four night stay and were not asked what’s wrong. Save yourself the stress and money, it is cheaper and more convenient to go elsewhere.

Cosy little family run guesthouse

Reviewed By PathManSlough

My wife and I stayed one night here while touring the Alpenstrasse. The hotel is set in the centre of a very small town, with private parking to the rear. The room itself was cosy, but the bed wasn't the most comfortable (thin mattress and squeeky), and bathroom was also very small but functional. There was a balcony, but access could only be gained by entering the main corridor. Breakfast was excellent. The landlord asked us if we wanted coffee or tea and he brought us a fresh pot of boiling water so we could make our own tea (PG Tips of course!). A good spread was available to eat & drink and the clientelle seemed very friendly (Morgen! to all on entering the breakfast room).

Lovely quiet B&B a very short drive from the Chiemsee

Reviewed By colin w

We stayed a week in this lovely B&B a very short drive from the crowds of Prien and within easy driving of many sights in Bavaria and Austria. Choose a balcony room for evening view over the mountains (sometimes with lightning). You are not within practical walking distance of Prien so do need to drive to supper (or bring your own food and drink to the hotel - fridge, plates, glasses and cutlery in room. Exception: There is one nice restaurant a 1.2 km walk away). Superb buffet breakfast. The area offers both active (cycling, walking, water sports) and lazy (boat trip, driving) excursions so great for all ages, weathers and exertion levels. Whatever your preference a day on the Chiemsee is not to be missed - the two main islands are fascinating quirks of history. Our favourite locations a little farther away were Salzburg and the Konigssee. And a hidden gem - a rock formation where millstones were made for 300 years starting 1570 (that's my photo contribution ...) Very friendly hosts happy to advise on all aspects of local tourism. Free wifi, cold drinks machine near hallway (beer ad soft drinks), ..... Any areas for improvement ? Sure: reading lights on the balcony would be nice as would down rather than polyester duvets. If you are tall beware the beds are a little short and have wooden footboards (is that a word ?) so stretching your legs is trickier than it need be. Covid-19 August 2020: The hotel’s still full, Germans and a few other European nationalities but no Americans or Asians. Face masks throughout and buffet breakfast means you go to the buffet (in your face mask) and ask for what you want: The hotel staff (in face mask and gloves) will put it on your plate. Works well, the hotel staff are a little stressed out but coping pretty well.
