Me being a solo traveller experienced a home away from home at the homestay. The owners made sure of the fact that I was safe, secure, happy and helped during my entire stay. Love, love and only love here!!! Kudos to the owners and how they maintain the property. Clean rooms, proper facilities, hot water and just the best...

It was an unforgettable stay in the Cradle of Western Ghats away from the Hustle and Bustle of Busy Scheduled life with 100% pure Oxygen inhalation. Reviewed By Go50887571029A well run and nicely situated real homestay. We found this place by accident and wanted to stay 3 or 4 days. In the end we stayed 7 days as the owner and his family are extremely helpful (good English helped a lot) and sympathetic. Our well renovated room to the backyard with a little private terrace was luminous and in the middle of trees and nice little houses. This was the cleanest room we ever had in India - also everything is thought of and at the same time the homestay stays simple. The owner helped us also to organise ayurvedic treatments and a visit of a spice plantation. Very good experience. The restaurant he recommended was one of the best we visited in India and we actually miss it. There’s a lot to see in Kumily and the homestay is well situated - close to the center and the park but far enough to stay quiet. This is one of the real homestays where you have the opportunity to keep contact with the welcoming family but at the same timothy advantage of staying calm. A very beautiful and authentic neighbourhood even if quite touristic. The price per night was very good. Absolutely recommendable and we hope to come back here. Reviewed By sakthicooolOne of the best hotels in the Kumily-Thekkady locality. The hotel is present about 1Km from the town giving you a pleasant and peaceful stay there. The hotel owner is very polite and helpful to the guest in need and he also make arrangements for guests for local sightseeing if requested. The hotel has a kitchen for the guest to use for making tea/coffee and small food items. The rooms are spacious and good and neatly cleaned. Some rooms get a balcony and mountain views. Also they have separate car parking available for guests.

Mayapott Plantation villa is a boutique home stay, built on a rock in the natural ambiance of 130 acres of cardamom estate; the greenery, birds & breeze, natural stream and excellent amenities invite travelers who seek peace and privacy along with rich activities such as trekking, plantation walks, honey bee farming, hiking, biking, bird watching, peaceful reading of their favorite book by the brook, learning and participating in the ethnic cooking. Apart from these activities one can enjoy the outdoor activities promoted and organized by the Kerala tourism such as, river rafting & trekking, boating, jungle safari.Mayapott is built around a huge rock, which was used as a resting point for hunters. Legend has it that the bonfire around which they rested was a safe refuge from the herd of wild elephants that raged the area. The rainforest canopy, the floor of which houses the cardamom plantation, provides the serene setting for Mayapott. A stream flows under the bridge that connects the two portions of the house, which is quite a delightful sight during the rains. The area also houses the huge pond that has been used as a storage tank for irrigating the plantation.A short while from Thekkady, the seat of the Periyar wildlife, yet far from anything that can disturb you….. So cut off that even a newspaper rarely reaches it; this home frees you to rejuvenate yourself in the deepest possible ways. This unique plantation hide-out features two fully furnished studio rooms(bed rooms) and one villa suite, a two bed spa, common dining area and fire place, a tea launch over the covered bridge ; and 130 acres of lush green cardamom plantation where privacy will be the password for nature lovers to relax, rejuvenate and refresh. And for honeymoon couples to get lost in their world of dreams, romance and playful mischief. Attached bath rooms have a natural ambience too. All the rooms have view of the plantation and the stream, complimented with music of the birds, aroma of cardamom, wild flowers and the list goes on…

Reviewed By Jasser123Really wonder full experience ,we really enjoy our family trip. We enjoy the fishing, water falls, pool , wild life , cardamom plants, every thing. Very delicious food and snacks. Really we experience a great service from all staffs, especially appreciating the Mr. Vishnu ( manager ). Camp fire and live BBQ chicken preparation was awesome. We will visit again, Thanks to entire Mayapott management for providing this like experience to guest.
