The experience was beyond our expectations, we were wowed by almost everything and everyone?. Most of the tents have breathtaking views of Talek River, the sounds of the river sings lullaby to you and the hippos offers the wake up call to you. The standards on food, house keeping, game drives and the rest of the amenities are just perfect, we are already looking forward to sending our guests your way to experience the same. Special thanks to Mr Kevin Achungo and his team for the incredible pampering (can't forget to mention Geofrey and his team at Mara Explorer, Simon the guide, Mary, Duncan among others)...amazing team. The Bush breakfast was just amazing! We highly recommend Mara Intrepids and Mara Explorer, already looking forward to our next stay.

Ololo Safari Lodge

Incredible Safari with Ololo Safaris

Reviewed By agustinab757

I wanted a trip of a lifetime, one I will tell my grandchildren about, and this is exactly what I got. It was fantastic and more than I would have ever imagined. The beauty of Kenya, the scenery, the game drives with the most knowledgeable and friendliest guide, the destinations, and the excellent organization by brothers, Charley and Jim, and Ololo safaris' founders. My trip started at Ololo lodge, a hidden gem just outside of Nairobi National Park, with the friendliest staff, amazing views and most delicious food!. I then travelled to Amboselli for 2 nights where I spent most of my days with large herds of elephant ?. My guide, Simon, was so knowledgeable and insightful, not only about the wildlife but also about the history, politics and life in Kenya in general. The camps I stayed at were incredible and were exactly what I was looking for - a diverse variety of wildlife and also unique experiences I had not even thought about. For example, whilst at Watamu on the coast, I went on a kayak safari through the mangroves and also had an incredible time snorkeling the watamu reef! Special mention must go to my local guide, Kingi, who had a true passion for his work and the the natural environment. I highly recommend not only staying at Ololo lodge but also arranging a safari with Ololo Safaris. As I have been on safari a few times now in Kenya and this personal insight and connections they have from living here really made a noticeable difference in my experiences. This trip will certainly not be my last and I cant wait to explore more of Kenya with the help of Ololo safaris team. These photos are just a glimpse of my favorite moments! ?

I stayed here with 5 of my friends. When you arrive at reception you are blown away by how beautiful it is. The tented rooms were luxurious. The staff were so friendly. It is a 5 minute drive to the wonderful Amboseli park. Here we saw lots of elephants, hippo and lots more. Having Kilimanjaro in the background makes this camp a must. The food was buffet style. There was lots of variety and Milton made the best pizza!! A wonderful stay.

Must visit place and excellent stay

Reviewed By 605yatishs

The property is excellent with all facilities one could expect at a five star hotel. To find that inside the Mara was a delightful experience. Chef Juma Musili obviously lead the F&B production team to an exotic menu catering for all needs. It was very well executed by Chef Kennedy Aluvi. Of particular delight was Chef Moses Bonaya who not only made excellent pasta and pancakes at the live counter but also played excellent guitar and sang for guests. The rooms were very tastefully decorated and comfortable. However no slippers and shaving kit was provided. Neither was there a safe deposit. But the bed was excellent and so was the view from window. The swimming pool provided excellent recreational facilities and also mesmerising view of sunrise over Mara. Overall the staff was very friendly and always eager to help. Two particular team member Denis Meangi and Patricia were worthy of mention. Payments only by credit cards and local currency. No US $. Lastly, Airtel network including 4G was available throughout the Masai Mara National Park!

A must for wildlife lovers

Stayed at this lodge for just 2 nights and will miss the kindness and hospitality of the team. Every single worker always greeted me a smile and “welcome” at every encounter. The gardens are spectacular and the location is in the heart of the park. As soon as we left the gate, we saw lions, elephants, monitor lizards, vervet monkeys, zebra…the list goes on. There’s plenty of food options, both western and local. Plenty of open air seating and lounging areas. The highlight are rooms 211- 214 which are directly off the watering hole, where elephant herds gathered nightly and we could safely and peacefully observe from our private deck! But again, it was the graciousness of the staff that warmed my heart!

We stayed at Chui lodge for a night recently but, how we wished we stayed longer. Situated inside a private conservancy the lodge is truly an exclusive place. The cottage are huge with beautiful lathe beds and lovely views. They have a waterhole just in front of the dining space. There are many different types of colourful birds too. Food is delicious and the staff extremely helpful. We went on a evening plus night safari with James and saw loafs of animals including a Leopard with its kill, Hyenas, Jackals, Hippos etc The only issue was with the wifi, it was not that great, at least not in our cottage. Everything else was great ?

Great ambiance but the rooms were too small

Reviewed By cindyaQ5556PT

When we got there the service from the staff was prompt and good. The ambiance was great and we got to see an elephant grazing right next to the fence. However the rooms were too small and quite packed next to each other, it was hard to get the feeling of privacy. It had a congested feel. The food was great but something in it gave me a bad case of breakouts on my face, so much that we checked out after one night. However, if you could get over those, it would be an amazing place to stay as it is right inside the Amboseli national park.
