In our romantic house in the heart of the old part of town directly alongside the lower gate on the historical market place with parking spaces and without the noise of traffic. On our doorstep: Restaurants, cafes and bars. Shopping and window shopping in the pedestrian zone. Weekend market and "Max Reger" town park. Art and culture, museums and art galleries. Unique in this historical location: Managed by the owner's family. Caring, friendly staff Bavarian homely hospitality. A traditional guest house since 1567

Best location literally at the entrance of the old town with all the restaurants and shops at your door step. At check-in we were offered a package that included breakfast and parking for an extra 20 €. Parking is about 100 meters from the hotel. Flossenbürg which was the reason for our stay is at a 15 minute drive. Room was super clean, with all the amenities expected except for a coffee/tea station. We missed having hot herb teas at night or coffee in the morning. There was a bathtub which was appreciated. TV was lacking English news channels; no BBC nor CNN ( maybe it’s a positive point after all…) We booked the spa which we had for ourselves. The spa is large enough with 2 or 3 saunas (only one was working), showers, jacuzzi (which we had to pay about 20€ extra to use but it was prepared specially for us) , a relax area with chaises and an outside section as well to cool off after sauna. I think there was an other sauna outside but it wasn’t in function neither. Towels and sandals are provided. You had to reserve in advance and it seems that you must book a la carte services. There was a massage room as well and a small / basic gym. Very good continental breakfast. Buffet style with ample offer including boiled eggs. No gluten free bread was available but I had brought mine as I didn’t ask for it at time of reservation so it wasn’t really expected nor was it a problem. All the staff members were nice and qualified. Should we return to that beautiful town, we would choose to stay there again.

Lovely charming hotel
Reviewed By Kristina DI stayed in the hotel for business. There was a warm greeting at checkin and each time I passed the front desk. The room was large, quiet, comfortable and well-appointed. I liked having a mini-bar and fan in the room. The bed was comfortable. Plenty of hot water in the shower. Breakfast was very nice with the typical meats, cheeses, fruits, brotchen and boiled eggs, plus American style bacon as a bonus. Great coffee. Public areas had plenty of comfy seating, good for chatting with colleagues. The location was perfect. I could hear the church bells toll if my window was cracked open. Tons of restaurants and shops very near. Perfect stay. I hope I return.

Our hotel is in a wonderfully central location close to Weiden’s historical centre adjoining a small park directly next to Weiden’s congress centre. Regardless of whether you are staying for business or private reasons, our comfortable and quiet rooms, junior suites and suites (with whirlpool) leave nothing to be desired. Various culinary delights await you in our restaurant and winter garden. We would be pleased to advise you individually on the organisation of conferences or company or family events. 30 Days in a Comfortable, Personable Setting
Reviewed By coolchange78I resided in the Amedia Hotel - Weiden for about a month while in the area on business. Let me get the negatives out of the way up front since these are minimal: 1. The lobby/front desk closes around 9:00pm, this also cuts off access to the elevators of this five story hotel. Lobby reopens around 6:00am 2. The internet availability is very weak during peak hours. 3. The restaurant was closed. Moving on to the positives: 1. A phenomenal, friendly and professional staff. Everyone went out of their way to ensure our stay was comfortable even in a COVID environment. A big shout out to Christine and Marie who greeted us every morning with a welcoming smile and salutation. A huge shout out to Carolin and Patrick for making our uneventful evenings, eventful. They were so much fun and funny! 2. The housekeeping staff is also above par ensuring our rooms were cleaned to a very high standard while working around our weird schedules. 3. The room was comfortable, not exceptional. It included a very small refrigerator. 4. We were just a 10 minute walk from Weiden City Center full of incredible eateries in a very friendly community. You could find fare from all walks of life and I personally did not have a bad meal anywhere. 5. About a 10-12 minute walk to the Train Station and a two minute walk to the main bus station (Am Zob). There is the greatest little food stand in that area call Imbiss Am Zob. Deiter is the owner and a really cool dude. Great food, cold beer and friendly conversation. 6. There is also a small grocery store (Netto) right across the street from the hotel. 7. The parking garage below the building is well lit and safe. Overall this was a very good experience and I would recommend staying there unless the lack of an elevator would hinder your room access or you are required to get some work done during peak hours. The internet can be frustrating. For me the staff overcame these minor nuisances. They were the best!

The restaurant is good and the prices are really nice! The service people and the owner are nice and ready to help. Definitively a place to be...

Reviewed By simplyso16My husband and I stayed at Hotel Zur Heimat during our travels through Germany and were blown away. Walking from the train station 20 minutes away, we arrived at the hotel and were blown away by our room. It was absolutely stunning and beautiful. Every morning there was breakfast that was just delicious and then there was the restaurant. The food at Zur Heimat was surreal, fantastical, and the most delicious meal we have had in Europe. Not only that, but the staff were kind with smiles and were very flexible with our itinerary, letting us checkout later and holding our baggage. If you're in the area of Weiden, Hotel Zur Heimat is a must place to stop for dinner and a night.

Nice hotel, just a couple things
Reviewed By Erik MThis is a nice little hotel, with a good location and recently remodeled rooms. I would give it 4 stars if the English TV channels worked and there was a water kettle in the room. I like to drink my coffee and listen to the news in the morning and was unable to do that, but if that doesn't bother you this is a good place to stay with only a short walk to downtown and parking on site.

Reviewed By cincy814I can't say enough good things about this hotel and restaurant. We stayed there for two nights while re-visiting the area where we once lived. Hoelltaler Hof is clean, with spacious rooms and bathrooms, beautiful grounds and plenty of hiking and outdoor activities. It's only a few minutes drive from the city of Weiden. The restaurant is fantastic. I'd recommend any dishes made with the local game. Breakfast is included in your rate. Options include meats, cheeses, breads, and a variety of muesli, yogurt, honey, and so forth. Most options are local, harvested or produced right there in the Oberpfalz region. The family that runs this hotel are extremely hospitable. We highly recommend Hoelltaler Hof!

Good Intentions
Reviewed By CodysFamilyThe Stadtkrug was comfortable, and the breakfasts were good, but overall it was just a bit off kilter in almost every respect. The parking was hard to get in and out of, the lift was balky and too small for a suitcase, the wifi was intermittent, the front desk was rarely attended, and even as a modest German speaker, I found it difficult to communicate with the staff.
