Reviewed By Carson FWonderful property and owners tucked into the Black Forest. The quality of the food was an unexpected surprise and delight. 4-6course dinners were fit for foodies and were a highlight of our trip to Germany. Definitely worth a detour. Looking forward to returning.

Excellent deal
Reviewed By WisafWe stayed in the renovated part. The room was good and spacious, the staff is very friendly. Breakfast is sufficient. We staid here while our own holiday apartment was re-decorated. Had a great deal including breakfast and dinner. We often have dinner in the restaurant when we stay in our apartment in Todtmoos and always enjoy the food. We booked the slightly large superior room with tv.

Delightful hotel...but beware the owner!
Reviewed By malholmeThere are widely varying reviews of this hotel. Since my wife is disabled we had requested a ground floor room. We were given a superb double room complex on the ground floor very near the restaurant....with UNEXPECTANTLY tea/coffee making facilities, which were much appreciated. Room keys/porterage were efficiently dealt with. We were staying here for three nights. Breakfasts were very good, and the lady on duty was friendly, kind and very helpful in providing omelette and hot chocolate. The evening meals, which have been criticized by some reviewers were good, with the quality of the meats being very good. Beds were not quite so comfortable as some hotels, and the pillows deflated rapidly. There is no lift apparent. As we were staying for three nights we asked the manager for replacement of the tea/coffee. His response was was a curt/rude NO! Perhaps he was trying to do an impression of John Cleese in Fawlty Towers. Other guests were chastised by him for touching the Christmas decorations in a very abrupt manner. This is a very good hotel with lovely staff....apart from this German version of Basil Fawlty!

Perfect summer destination
Reviewed By Sai Ganesh BA quaint village in the heart of black forest, Todtmoos makes for a perfect vacation in summer. The village is nestled amidst the hills and has numerous hiking and biking trails around. The guesthouse is just a five minute walk from the bus station and in the vicinity of shops and restaurants. The room was neat, reasonably spacious and the staff very warm and courteous. The best part was the hotel providing us the Todtmoos card - this gave us access to bicycle rentals, spa and swimming pool, access to all public transport in the area and even a mini golf course - all for free. The bicycle rental is from a family run store who deliver and take back the bicycles at the guest house itself. We got superb mountain bikes on which we biked for the entire day in the surrounding region. The only catch is that the hotel does not have a lift. Overall experience - 4.5/5 Food 4/5 Staff friendliness 4/5 Cleanliness - 4/5 Facilities - 4.5/5 Location - 5/5

Really let down
Reviewed By alm0Expected so much more from the reviews. Found the room to be lacking- no toiletries, no big towel, no bath robe so a kettle may be too much to ask for. Wellness was not easy - water was not clearly available with no sign as how to to turn on. Only Sauna and IR on offer. Finally I also found breakfast to be a disaster asking what bread we like the day before and not providing it or needing to request standard items like butter/jam in a bizarre way. This place was a let down for me and certainly not worth the price. I found the hostess contrived and fake in her ways, for me her style was not true. The area is beautiful but I would look elsewhere next times.

Wonderful place to relax in the heart of "Schwarzwald"
Reviewed By lulito_alpinoThis weekend me and my wife went to the Black Forest "Schwarzwald" riding with the motorbike. Our room had a wonderful view of the Black Forest from the terrace of the room. The room had fully equipped bathroom (Big Bath, modern Shower, etc). The Room amenities exceeded my expectations. The room has fireplace to liven up a winter night (we don't need it this summer). Smoking is not allowed on the terrace of the room. The Staff of the Hotel was very very friendly and helpful in everything you need. The Breakfast Buffet is just amazing. The quality of the food is excellent. We liked being able to try different products of the area, food, beer and spirits. The Hotel has Pool, Sauna and offer diferent kind of massages sessions. My wife enjoyed of the massage session. I am not a sporty person but my wife enjoyed walking on the different hiking trails that are near the hotel.

A Culinary Delight
Reviewed By JLizzieHThis hotel in the Black Forest had delicious food ,we stayed half board in one of the apartments belonging to the hotel a short walk away. The apartment was clean and bright with a large bathroom and an adequate kitchenette. Sitting in the sun in the late afternoon sun on the balcony was a joy. We took our meals in the main hotel and the owners both worked very hard to ensure the hotel ran well and guests were well served. The attention to detail was great. The food superb, the setting for this hotel really does offer a romantic hideaway, an opportunity for walking and relaxing.

Reviewed By ankeo854We absolutely enjoyed our stay at Antico Mulino. We ate dinner at their restaurant the first night and it was great. The service is wonderful, the rooms super clean and our dog was very welcome! Breakfast was great as well!

Reviewed By BennyTanjaWe dropped in by chance and ordered a pizza and a plate of self-made Ravioli al Cacao on an orange-brandy sauce. The ravioli were sensational, and the pizza just great! Pizza's always freshly made, and the dough is simply perfect! We're sure to go back soon!
