Reviewed By CornishJannerWarm welcome in reception after a long walk from the car parking area that involves walking through another part of the hotel. Fine in Summer but not in the dark in the snow with a harsh wind blowing whilst pulling luggage ! Bedroom clean and quiet, eating was good and breakfast very filling. Not cheap to stay but not worth looking for somewhere else in this area in my opinion.

"Berggasthof Sonne" is surrounded by the beautiful Allgäu Alps and located in Imberg, a small village next to Sonthofen. Here you can expect friendly hospitality. The owners Elke and Jörg Müller put great emphasis on a warm service and thus create a cozy atmosphere in the dining room. The delicious regional dishes taste in the bright conservatory or on the sunny terrace with mountain views particularly well. From "Berggasthof Sonne" you can reach many beautiful destinations on foot, by mountain bike or in winter with snowshoes. The highlight of the restaurant is the in-house brewery. Beautiful, alpine-style rooms promise relaxation and comfort for your holidays.
Excellent food
Reviewed By David GAlthough we couldn't get a room for the night, the food at the restaurant was delicious. The roulade special and schnitzel were both great. The owner assisted us in finding and getting to a room. Very nice folks operate this gasthof.

Beautiful pension
Reviewed By David GWe were fortunate to find this room late in the evening with the help of the guest house in Imberg. Both operators worked to help us with our car problems and made our stay most pleasant. The room was very nice, comfortable and clean. Breakfast was superb and service was great.

Reviewed By teodorspanuLocated right in the center of the city, this Bavarian-style hotel impresses with bright and spacious rooms, cleanliness and friendliness of the staff. Breakfast is simple but tasty. The little menu variety would be welcome. I warmly recommend this place.

Reviewed By mariadD8986XAAls wir nach einem langen Tag auf dem Radel und nach spontaner Buchung im Hostel ankamen, wurden wir freundlich und herzlich begrüßt. Wir fanden Unterschlupf in einem wunderschönen Zimmer, in dem wir uns sofort wohl fühlten. Das Zimmer war sehr sauber und gemütlich gestaltet. Genauso die Gemeinschaftszimmer, die zum Verweilen einladen. Die Inhaber sind super hilfsbereit, herzlich und zuvorkommend. Beim Frühstück bekamen wir eine reichhaltiges und sehr leckeres Essen serviert. Jeder Wunsch wurde uns erfüllt. Wir sind sehr dankbar dieses schöne Plätzchen in Sonthofen gefunden zu haben und kommen gerne wieder. Wir können diese Unterkunft zu 100 % weiterempfehlen.

No motorcyvle parking
Reviewed By Wouter VBiergarten, restaurant were ok. Very good service by the lovely waitress. Rooms are spacious and very clean. Bathroom is a plastic cubicle but ok. No private parking for motorcycles however, bikes have to stand in front off the hotel along the street.

Reviewed By NielKnightFour of us on a motorcycle tour. My overall impression is that the Landhotel Bauer is a family run, well established hotel. We found it to be clean and basic, and staff are friendly, though they won't rush to serve you - you'll need to seek them out! Showers are small - you know; the type where one false move and you change the water temperature. A real plus is the secure parking for motorcycles. The owner is an ex-biker and understands what's needed, and is very welcoming. The food is good and not expensive. There are no bars or restaurants nearby. With the hotel being isolated (it sits on the edge of a residential area) and us not wanting a big night out, we settled for a few quiet beers on the patio area. Prices are favourable, so we were happy with our quiet night. A supermarket is 2 minutes down the road - very handy for stocking up if you're on the road. There's also a large motor supplies shop nearby, similar to the UK's Halfords shops. I would recommend the Landhotel Bauer for couples and small groups. I wouldn't say it is ideal for families or honeymoon couples.
