Short Break on the Beach

Bansin is situated on the coast of Germany near the Polish border with miles of golden sand. There are good train and bus connections to other resorts in the region, Hamburg and Berlin. The hotel is a few steps from the beach and is in an excellent position. It has activities for children and a spa. The hotel is bright and clean, and the bedrooms very comfortable. The staff are extremely pleasant and helpful. We really enjoyed our stay there, particularly as the weather was hot and sunny. The one small issue was that the evening buffet dinner has changed this year and is labelled as 'Leichter Abendgenuss' - a light, cold dinner, which may be healthy but was a disappointment because on our previous stays, the full buffet dinner included hot items and was excellent. Nevertheless we had a great time and will return again.

Relaxing - yes, 4 Star - no

My boyfriend and I travel to Bansin once a year. This time we decided to try out the Villen im Park. The first impression is good, the hotel is spread out across a nice park, albeit near one of the main streets in Bansin. Our room was facing the street, so we could hear the cars, it was ok though since they have good Windows - but I would not recommend sleeping there with the window open. Starting with the negative points: the room design is absolutely out of fashion. Everything had this end of the 90s look (mismatching patterns, colors, and even a small old-school TV). Also there is no wireless internet - something I expect as given in a 4* hotel. The room we had was also quite small, which is ok - with a redesign this would work. The bathroom is tiny and small details could be improved (i.e. there was one lamp cover missing, a sign of sloppiness that shouldn't happen in a 4* place). Now the positive points: The food was good! The breakfast buffet has a lot to offer - quite a few vegetarian options, lactose-free, soy milk etc. Apart from that a lot of cut meats, cheeses, salads, vegetables, fish, joghurts and musli. The dinner buffet was also good in terms of quality, but we would have liked some more vegetables. If you are vegetarian the options were a little bit dry (some pasta casserole). Now lets talk about relaxing there: the spa is nice. It is well spread out so that despite a rainy day, it was not too crowded. There are enough saunas for everyone and the indoor pool is big enough, water temperature is perfect, and there are several rooms to rest. One drawback was that there is no steam bath and you cannot go outside directly from the spa (which frequent sauna-visitors like to do to cool down). Staff in the spa was friendly and professional. Overall, the cleanliness in the hotel (rooms, salon, spa) was impeccable. There is also a bar in the hotel. It is ok - there the average age of the hotel becomes clear: 50+. This is probably also the reason why nobody before has asked for wlan. I don't think that we will come back even though overall it was a nice stay - maybe in 20 years, or after they redesign the place.

We stayed at the Germania Hotel Bansin for a wedding celebration for 3 nights and loved every minute of it. The location is superb. Right by the beach with nothing obscuring the view. You can walk for miles, discover the little shops and eateries or simply enjoy the sea. I am sure it gets very busy here during the main season but even off season the Baltic Sea has a lot to offer. Our room (number 14) was on the ground floor so our baby monitor would work in the restaurant. We even had a little terrace. The room was spacious, clean, well decorated and looked newly refurbished. The bed was super comfortable. We had a look at pretty much every type of room in the hotel as it was filled with other wedding guests and all the rooms were just as lovely - even the few without sea view. All the bathrooms are small with a shower but they are new and well laid out with lots of light. The sea view gets better the further up you get but there are only stairs and no lift. However our sea view on the ground floor (which is already the first floor seen from the sea front - townhouse style) was just as beautiful. Whilst the rooms are newly refurbished the original style of the building has not been lost. Very well done. The staff were hugely helpful and accommodating - the food was great too. The breakfast is a German breakfast with the only hot part being scrambled egg but this is really nice. Plenty of fruit and cold meats to choose from as well as cereal and fruit juices. The food prepared for the wedding was excellent as well as the a la carte dinner. The hotel also had a sauna which you can book through reception. I can only recommend you do so. It's very well presented and so relaxing! We just could not fault anything during our stay and can highly recommend the Hotel Germania.

Top Hotel, Zimmergröße sehr unterschiedlich

Reviewed By DaniFilth1976

This hotel never disappoints. They have a 5 nights for price of 4 deal on with half-board. Good value. Spa area very clean and professionally run. Rooms spotless and well maintained. Only minus is the lack of staff in the buffet restaurant. They’re run off their feet and drinks take a long time.

Best in the area

Reviewed By Nikmaxa21

We moved here from other Seetelhotel in searches of better room and seaview. Don’t book on booking, book in the hotel itself so that you see the room you are taking before you pay. They had “side sea-view” which turned out to be facing some construction site. To see the narrow band of the sea from it you have to get on the balcony and bend out. So we chose our corner front sea view room in person. I like it more than suit, as it looks bigger, have a big balcony and 270° view. Positives: big restaurant, nice towels, good beds, nice view, fresh squeezed juices at the breakfast. Hard to find, I would not ever go so far around the corner but they exist if you search:). Reception staff is very friendly and speak good English, at least some of them. Negatives: There is no outdoor eating terrace for healthy people. It’s annoying to always it inside when you like and value fresh air and sea view. There are always some smokers. You come on the terrace with your breakfast and if only one smoker sits around, your nice fresh air is all spoiled. I would forbid smoking in restaurants completely, to please couple of people with bad habits you, hotels, turn away plenty of healthy lifestyle people. Suggestions for the room: the trash can in the bathroom is not conveniently hidden inside the drawer, I need it more often in the toilet! Ask any lady and she will tell you why. Breakfast is 21€ and it does not worth the candle if you are vegan or raw vegan. There are some fruits but not sweet or ripe enough, and not enough fresh vegetables. Espresso is not tasty. But they have almond milk, that’s good. No kettle or espresso machine in the room. The carpet on the floor is dirty as well as balcony railing. Glass balcony would be better (some rooms have glass, some are metal, choose glass for view.) If you like to sit on the balcony you will be also most likely annoyed by smokers as you feel them even at a distance, hotel should separate them in other building or forbid smoking completely. I would also recommend hire English people for cafe/restaurants. There are nice wood trails to walk or bike not far from the hotel. You can walk left far away along the beach and return through the woods.

No wlan, but friendly service

Reviewed By Blogger B

LOCATION: From the train station Bansin, it is a 20 minutes walk to the hotel - but if you call beforehand, the hotel will send you a taxy cab (for free). STAFF: Very friendly and professional staff - you got the feelign they care about you. Hurried check-out was no problem, as well as getting a sewing kit when a button of my business coat was about to fall off. ROOM(S): I had two adjacent rooms: one livingroom with a couch and tv, desk/chair, and a very spacious bedroom with a double-bed, two nightstands, a massive wooden phone table, a huge closet and suitcase rack + separate rather spacious bathroom with a shower. The lightning in all rooms were very pleasant and warm, beautiful details in the lights. The bed linen was clean and fresh, the usual "fake fur" blankets (really disgusting in most hotels) were neatly put into the wardrobe for individual use. The carpet was worn out at some places, but it made the whole stay very "cozy", because it was yet all very clean. BATHROOM: Towels were enough and very clean and average soft. Very clean bath, offers even a shower cap next to the usual travel size lotion, soap etc. and the shampoo, liquid soap that comes witht he bathroom. Extra mirror for makeup, shaving etc. and hairdryer. DINING HALL: Old school glamorous and classic, the staff is very attentive and offers you coffee in a decanter almost immediately. The offered breakfast buffet was not special, but had everything you needed. The selection of fruits during this winter was really nice! On one morning, I was in such a hurry I could only wolf down food within 5 minutes, so I just gulped down the coffee and asked for a paper napkin to take a bread "to go". My waitress immediately saw I had to leave (late for a meeting) and asked "to pack breakfast to go?" and returned within a blink of an eye with a huge strand of aluminium foil, so I could take even two rolls to go. ETC: You have to ask for slippers at the front desk separately, and I would highly recommending doing that, since there is carpet everywhere and even though they seem to be cleaning it very thoroughly, Germans are used to wear shoes in the apartment, which doesn't seem very hygienic. BRING SWIMWEAR, this hotel offers a swimming pool for guests in the basement facilities! Make sure you get a room with a view! The hotel is directly lovated at the sea shore, just 5 minutes walk from the entrance to the shore and you can hear the waves in the mornings and evenings - it's so refreshing! SHORTFALLS: A lamp on the desk was missing, so the work space was no use for me. Working during late hours was nearly impossble and I had to work in the bed, which was rather inconvenient. The room was not heated upon arrival (below zero degrees celsius) and the air seemed stagnant in the room. Had to air the whole apartment before turning up the heat. The massive curtains don't work porperly at some windows; they cannot be closed entirely and light from the next door hotel is coming in. My room was in short proximity to the next buildings, so that was really inconvenient. *** NO WLAN!! *** This is probably the only point that led to deducing a star: I was there for a business meeting, and without internet access in the room, it was a huge hassle to prepare for the meetings and presentations! (The organizers booked the place, so I did not know in advance) CONCLUSION: I would definitely recommend this hotel, the prices are very good and overall, the hotel is very clean and the staff is nice. However, I would highly recommend getting a nightstand for the workplace in the livingroom and wlan in every room!

Beautiful hotel, nice apartment and a great view

We truly enjoyed our stay, the nicely furnished apartment and the great view over the ocean and the pier. The only downside: you have to decide the day before if want to have breakfast in the hotel, which is then served in the Mexican restaurant on the premises. Very nice indoor pool and sauna area, very clean and well maintained, yet no towels provided, bring your own from the room. Free wifi only in the lobby and very slow.
