Nice, but needs better service
Reviewed By furkettaNice guest house, in a convenient location, relatively new room, quiet area. We had breakfast included but the whole experience was a bit disappointing. we were given the option to have it in the room or on the terrace, but because of Covid, we had to arrange it the night before (which is fine). We set the first slot available (8:45), as the terrace is not huge and can’t welcome all guests at once. We planned to leave the guesthouse at 9:15 max, as we were continuing our trip and had a ferry to catch. We showed up at 8:45 sharp, the table wasn’t ready (there wasn’t really much), there was another table with other guests, using the only table in the shades; we waited until 9:10 to finally get our tray with cappuccino and croissant, a small bread, some jam and Nutella, 2 slices of melon and two yogurts....needless to say, we had to chug what we could and run away...I would have appreciate some extra sugar for my cappuccino, or another coffee, but the service was so slow that we just had to leave. I understand it’s a relaxed environment, but we had made very clear that we were on a schedule and expected them to be punctual (also because there was literally just one other table and we were left 25 minutes, out of the 30 ones allotted, totally abandoned!)

Our restaurant, from 2001 on Osterie d'Italia (Slow Food magazine), Foodies (Gambero Rosso magazine), has been focusing on Slow Food philosophy. We use only products from our crops, local products and Sicilian Slow Food (Pistacchio from Bronte, lentils from Ustica, Sicilian black bee honey, seasalt of Trapani, red garlic from Nubia, Vastedda cheese from Valle del Belice, black porc from Nebrodi, etc). You can taste different rustic appetizers (olives, panelle, caponata, cheese, cold cuts and other specialities) our "busiate", fresh typical hand-made pasta of Trapani area; main corses with meat choice; side dishes with vegetables from our crops. New entry in our menu: Pizza! Slow leavening (24h), "Antichi Grani Siciliani" biological flour and others local biological flour (Molini del Ponte from Castelvetrano) for a crisp and tasting pizza of choice.

Reviewed By BeziWe had a nice big room that came with a small kitchen area, just a microwave basically. The issue with the room was the lack of sockets to charge the various electronic devices we all have now. There were just 2 sockets in the room and that includes the one the kettle plugs into! The aircon didn't do much either, this wasn't a problem in May but could be an issue in July. The staff were very helpful and would book restaurants etc. The best (cheapest) car parking is a 10 minute walk away where you can park all day for very little. Location wise the hotel is perfect.

Situated in the centre of the Castellammare Gulf, Hotel Punta Nord- Est is the perfect location for a relaxing holiday. It is ideally placed on the seafront and is just a stone's throw from the town's historic centre. The hotel boasts 57 rooms, swimming pool, panoramic solarium with relaxing area and Jacuzzi, bar, pool bar, play ground and play room, free wi-fi, free internet point, free parking space and garage. A few meters away there is a long wide and sandy beach equipped with deckchairs and beach umbrellas reachable in only two minutes with our golf car.
Lovely Staff, Great Hotel, Special Town
Reviewed By Colin SPlease do not be hotel star snobs and discount this 3 star hotel. This Hotel is a gem and the staff are second to none. We stayed at the Punta Nord Est for a week in May and were blown away by it. It is spotlessly clean and run so efficiently by the most lovely staff I have encountered in any hotel. While there is no dining for lunch or dinner at the Hotel the breakfast is excellent - served by the trademark friendly speedy staff. The pool area and sunbeds are spotless and the pool bar serves a wide range of drinks and snacks - including the local beer Messini which is excellent. No need to worry about going without food as 10 minutes walk from the hotel there are plenty of restaurants serving freshly caught seafood and the most delicious pizza you could dream of. I cannot recommend this hotel enough and we will be back - Castellammare del Golfo is a picturesque town with lots of character and a great mix of locals and tourists - the perfect place to relax , enjoy great views and hospitality. Finally special mention to Daniela on reception - always greeting guests with a smile, full of great information and always so helpful. Thanks Punta Nord Est - cant wait until we are back with you.

Other activities available in our town are: trekking, climbing, quad adventures, horse riding, fishing, scuba-diving. Castelluzzo is also featured by a great olive tree valley, with which we obtain an award-winning genuine olive oil which is the key of our well known cuisine.

Reviewed By Cindy DThe room was spacious and super clean. We had a balcony and were able to hand wash and dry our clothes quickly- a real benefit. Nino provided a delicious breakfast with Sicilian pastries, pane cunzatu, juices, fruit, coffees-- he was a great host. We chose the location to be close to Lo Zingaro but in a less touristy location- and Alba Marina was perfect for us.

Great place and great people
Reviewed By SophieLouise81This is the second time we have visited this hotel as a family with young children. We have been made so welcome, with great professionalism and friendliness. All the reception staff from Giuseppe, Alessandro, Loredana, Gabi and Sonia were so helpful. The hotel is lovely and the rooms spacious, clean and elegant. We were on full board and the food was great despite it was the busiest week of the year. There is also lovely entertainment for the children all day with a dance show every night.

The room was clean and modern, also airconditioned. nothing to say about that. very nice. The second day we woke up early and wanted to sit by the pool but there was no space available. The pool guy Flavio helped us find a spot after all. thanks for that. All the guests wake up early and place their towels on the sunning beds, it’s a practice i don’t favor but it’s your only option if you want to sit by the pool during the day. at 11 aquagym starts but that’s it for any activities or entertainment during the day. If you book this hotel with the expectations of having a real italian culinary experience you’re mistaken. I’m not a picky eater but i have to say the food was terrible. For people who don’t eat pork or are vegetarian you don’t have a lot of options. The pasta is not even al dente it’s just undercooked by a lot. The same food everyday, they just switch between lunch and dinner what to serve but mostly it’s the same. no desserts, the drinks we’re just syrup mixed with water. The all inclusive formula offers you breakfast lunch pool snacks, dinner and drinks. We didn’t see any pool snacks just little bowls of potato chips that you had to put in a napkin and take back to your sunning beds. You can drink all you want but the alcoholic drinks won’t even give you a slight buzz. my guess it’s just laced with water. The a la carte restaurant is great if you have a lot of patience. 45-/+ minutes for a pizza. also the all inclusive ends at 10 in the evening. side note, that’s when the entertainment starts. You have to pay €10 to have it extended until 12 at night but it’s not worth it at all. You can choose between limoncello, wine, beer, rum and syrup mixed drinks. if you want something stronger like vodka or whiskey you have to buy a kiwi card and pay the full price for a glass. This is the only all inclusive hotel i have been to, where you need to have your wallet with you at all times because you have to pay extra for every small thing they can think of. Wifi is €2/day. tourist fee + corona taxes is €5/day. Don’t let the cheap booking price fool you :) Kiwi travel offers excursions where you have to pay at around 25-50 but almost nothing is included. We booked the excursion to Erice and the boot tour and they we’re both cancelled at the last time. The area the hotel is located in is very cute but also very boring. during the day everything is closed because of siesta and in the evening you can visit a couple of small restaurants and cafe’s but not any bars or clubs. In two weeks we didn’t find any place to party or dance. so this is definitely a hotel i would recommend older people. The night entertainment is the same every day, bingo or karaoke. Fun but not something you want to do every night. Federico is a singer that gives a show every night. Great singer, lovely guy but looking at a karaoke screen while singing the same 5 songs every day is not entertaining. On friday a group of local italians arrive. The already overcrowded hotel suddenly turns into a place for the local italians to let loose. The staff, entertainment, music, not a single english sentence from friday until sunday. Very unfortunate for the people who traveled al these hours from legit a whole ass other country to be set aside. literally set aside. we had to sit on the steps because the local italians take in all the tables and chairs in the evening. And it’s the same every weekend. The animation team or should i say duo? Clarissa is very sweet but only speaks italian which is very unfortunate for her. Khaled is the head of animation and i think the only thing that made our stay at hopps pleasurable. Such a fun guy who tries to make the best of our stay with the limited resources he is given.
