Disappointed with customer service
Reviewed By MonikaKierCustomer experience in La Pizzuta ends the second you depart the premises. My 5-year old daughter forgot her backpack with beloved toys in the reception area. The same day I've tried to contact the hotel via phone and emails, but unfortunately there was no contact/no response to my kind request to send the backpack to my home (of course with the offer to cover all expenses). I understand that hotel doesn't bear responsibility for my forgotten luggage, but it would be nice to have ANY kind of response to my question instead of silence. Other cons: - most of the stuff doesn't speak English, - swimming pool is closed from 1PM to 4PM due to siesta (!) - poor breakfast (there is only bread, jams, boiled eggs, 1-2 types of sliced cheese and meat, cornflakes, fruit and pastries; nothing warm, no vegatables) - no place to dry your clothes and towels in the room - wi-fi in the room non-existent. Pros: - beautiful garden and nice swimming pool area, - friendly stuff; at most times don't understand you, but they try to make it up with the smile, - good location with 30-40min walk to Tropea (but remember you will need to go back UP the hill:))

Photographs well, but terrible place
Reviewed By MKniknieNot even sure where to start with this hotel…we just stayed 1 night and very glad that we did not stay longer. The hotel is in a nice location, but since the hotel is build on top of a cliff, it is a real hike to get the sea. The hotel describes that they have a beach and access to the Mediterranean, but in reality there is no beach at all, and getting into the sea for a swim is nearly impossible. Just all huge boulders, no sand to be seen. (I’m not joking,..:this is not considered pebbles but massive rocks) This should really not be described as a beach! The rooms are okay and specious. Air conditioning worked well, but be aware that the hotel has multiple levels and no elevators to get anywhere. Difficult to get to your room with suitcases and no bellhop to help. No Wifi in the room available, and TV channels are only limited to Italian ones. No international selection. Reception staff is friendly and willing to help out! Breakfast is really bad, even for Italian standards. Coffee out of a machine (in Italy), juice of our a machine and poor selection in general. Grounds are not maintained and it looked that the grass had not been cut in weeks. We even found a rusty old motorcycle that seemed to have washed up on the rocks. Overall very poor experience and would not recommend to stay there. Plenty of other hotels around!!

Great Hotel with Fantastic Staff
Reviewed By 49philaJust returned from a fantastic 7 day stay at Hotel Piccolo Residence. The staff here are fantastic and went out of their way to make sure our stay was comfortable particularly after my suitcase did not arrive for the duration of my stay! Good sized room, spotlessly clean and large balcony area. The view from the terrace was stunning and a great place for breakfast, sunbathing or late night drink. Just a short walk to the sleepy village of Parghelia where there are plenty of bars, restaurants and a supermarket. Tropea is within walking distance but there are regular shuttle buses from the hotel to both Tropea and the beach. Good choice of food at the hotel albeit we chose to eat in Tropea most nights - a stunning town with fantastic beach and crystal clear waters.

Just perfect for a family holiday
Reviewed By darwinist2009great pool, good breakfast,, perfect clean rooms with balkony all with a stunning view of Tropea and weatherpermitting the Stromboli volcano. Very friendly staff and owners. Small enough to be personal attentive. Various nearby beaches walkable or by shuttle service if you not want to use your own car. Free garage for the car. Second stay after 2 years and just as good as then.

Reviewed By Sharon AFantastic Hotel, 10 minute drive to Tropea with views that are to die for and very comfortable rooms. Pool area is situated in a very calm area so you can really relax. Nice breakfast, good selection. Only suggestion is to care for the Salumi section a bit more and try to keep away the bees. Staff were extremely helpful!!! ??????

Charm, comfort and service
Reviewed By Agostino FWe spent three nights at Villa Florio late August to visit Tropea and the neighboring beaches. We arrived late and Francesco welcomed us and put us in a beautiful room in the main residence. The room is like the pictures - well appointed and comfortable, most importantly - we had a terrace where we could have our breakfast. The team was is so great that they made a point to get us greek yogurt and all-wheat cereals that we mentioned - what a delicious surprise! We were pleased to meet the entire family with Giovanni, his wife and daughter, and la mama. They are all very sweet and helpful, offering advice for restaurants and how to best access Tropea, which is only 10 minutes away. With its strategic location and the reasonable prices, Villa Florio offers service, convenience and value. Most importantly, it feels like a very private experience on a gorgeous property. We can definitely recommend Villa Florio and look forward to be back soon.

A little paradise directly in the sea, one of the most beautiful sites on the Italian Coast. The Hotel overlooks the sea. The centre of the building is the high tower with battlements from which it is possible to have a fantastic view. The Hotel offers a vast choice of facilities: a large swimming pool with a small and charming bar, a tennis court and a bowling alley.
Just What We Needed
Reviewed By jessica kStayed here two nights, one before a week long sailing trip and one night after the trip. We arrived in the midst of numerous wildfires nearby. We seemed to be in an oasis of greenery and safety even as the fires got close. The long walk down to the beach was worth the trip. The beach was sandy, beautiful and furnished with lovely chairs and umbrellas. Our room was large and the bath was modern. The view from our large terrace was breathtaking. The staff were gracious and helpful despite dealing with issues associated with the fires such as electricity cycling on and off. The public areas of the hotel were lovely. I felt as if I was in the home of a fine Italian family. After a week on the water in a sailboat, we were thrilled to be back in the same room we had stayed in the week before. I wish that we could have stayed longer to appreciate all that the hotel had to offer.

Great for rest, close to amazing beaches
Reviewed By Jelena79Since Parghelia and Tropea were our third stop on the trip through Calabria and places where we planned to spend more time on the beach, we couldn’t have chosen better that Silvana’s accomodation! It is ideally located in the quiet little town of Parhelia (it can probably be more crowded during the peak season in the summer, in June it was perfect for a rest!), very close to couple of good restaurants which offer local food, and close to the two amazing beaches. Silvana is a great host, always willing to assist, very hospitable and pleasant. She prepared an excellent breakfast, both savoury and sweet. Everything is spotlessly cleaned daily and Silvana takes care about every detail. She gave us some excellent restaurant recommendations, as well. The room is spatious, clean, well equipped and very quiet during the night. The beautiful Tropea is just a couple of minutes drive or a half an hour walk (very pleasant), so there are plenty more oportunities for sightseeing, beach, diner... We had a great rest here and would definitely recommend it!

Amazing service, great gardens and especially the pool, also nearby beach with beach access

I booked my trip via Trip.com but before I booked I called them to ensure that they had access to the beach and that they would accept our small dog. They said no problem. So I then booked online with Trip.com and then emailed them to confirm that had made the booking. A few days passed and they never relied to my email. So I sent another email. A few more days passed and they never replied. so I waited a week, and still no reply. So I called them. I explained, in English, what the problem was, and they immediately understood. They then emailed me from an alternate email address, one other than the one on their website and other than the one linked to their Trip.com account. Luckily it was all good and they got all the emails in the end and it was all sorted. We rented the 2 bedroom apartment. The apartment was ok, a bit old and beds a bit hard and shower super tiny and nozzle not working so well, snd wifi didn’t reach to the room either, and AirCon only in 1 of 2 bedrooms, but despite all of that, the grounds and pool and garden and especially the amazing service from Michele and Sylvia were very good! Michele recommended several great restaurants via e-mail well in advance of our arrival and helped us make and change some bookings and advised us in ferry crossings snd more. He also confirmed that the nice beach was nearby and helped us reserve some umbrellas and chairs there. The beach was only 3 minutes away by car and parking was €6 and an umbrella and 2 chairs were €25. They didn’t have beach towels either at the beach or at the hotel, which was quite surprising as most hotels usually have that, but they recommended a place 5 minutes away for €12 for a decent beach towel. So it was really the service of Michele that made it so great. The breakfast was very good: nice fresh melons and plums in season and various juices, breads, yoghurts and meats and cheeses and brands and croissants. Breakfast price was €7.50 per adult, and half for children. And the grounds were amazing. The pool was incredible. We spent hours there in the late afternoon and it was perfect as we had the pool all to ourselves. And the grounds are huge and well maintained with tons of fresh fruit trees and grapes and more. I’d definitely return just for the service and grounds and pool.

The Bed & Breakfast provides hospitality in Parghelia, a small village just 1 km from Tropea and facing the Aeolian Islands. The hotel is about 350 m from the sea. The wonderful beaches of Michelino, Pizzuta, Vardano and Vardanello provide Parghelia with enchanting natural scenery. The rooms, build recently are in the country inside an orange groves. They are equipped of indipendent bathroom with shower, air conditioning, digital terrestrial TV, refrigerator, hair dryer, parking. The atmosphere is comfortable and friendly, and the professional and courteous hospitality will make your stay pleasurable.Breakfast is served by the owner on the panoramic terrace.

Reviewed By annabelle_gurrathe owner is very nice and lovely,our room is ok but the hot water system in the shower is not working properly u need to turn on the the water first at least 5 to 10 mins to have a hot water and it’s very hot and if you adjust it it’s turn to cold,no wifi in the room if you want to connect you need to go out in the room and set somewhere in the garden,
