Reviewed By Brian SWe recently stayed for four nights at this gem of a hotel which nestles in the beautiful, vine-covered mountains of the Black Forest. We were very impressed by the high standard throughout and the excellent service we received from all the staff. The owners are very friendly and helpful and speak excellent English. The newly refurbished dining areas create a very relaxing atmosphere in which we enjoyed delicious food of a very high standard. Breakfast in particular is amazing and has an extensive range of local foods. It is the best continental breakfast we have ever experienced. Our room was immaculate with lots of storage space and a large comfortable bed. Hotel facilities include a beautiful swimming pool with loungers and windows which open out onto a small sun terrace. We really recommend this hotel - it is excellent value and well worth a visit.

Reviewed By Tony BThe welcome is friendly, the rooms are spacious and spotless, the staff, especially Michael the waiter, are obliging and efficient. The owners go far beyond the call of duty in looking after the guests. The food is good, honest, plentiful country cooking with a generous spirit and the situation is idyllic. Not sophisticated, pretentious or particularly innovative, but it does not purport to be. The wi-fi is a bit weak in the rooms, particularly the ones distant from the stairs and it is not air-conditioned, but that is all part of the charm. They help you get passes for free use of buses and trains, which makes it all so much more enjoyable. The popularity of the place speaks for itself!

Reviewed By GabiG792We stayed in this nice and quite guest house for 3 nights .We liked the big and clean room which was wall equipped and with a very nice view of the valley . Breakfast was nicr and tasty . The staff is very friendly .

Very good breakfast with luxuery fresh breads and fresh baked eggs and nine sort of quality cheese. Excellent dinner at the hotel in one of the best restaurants from Oberkirch.

Reviewed By RussMontrealFour of us were car touring the Black Forest (don’t miss Kloster) and checked in here one night. It’s a pleasant place to stay. Quiet, very comfortable rooms, and excellent dining. I woke early and walked around a bit, reading posters for a circus and festivals- lots going on here. Don’t miss the master mask-maker’s shop.

A Most Impressive Hotel in Every Sense.
Reviewed By bobnohereWhat a fantastic location! Having parked the car in the hotel's private car-park we were extremely impressed with this imposing hotel. We were greeted by very friendly staff and shown to our room which had absolutely stunning views of the mountains. Having settled in, we enjoyed a beer in the sunshine on a small terrace by the entrance. Our room, at the front of the hotel was immaculately clean, well equipped and very comfortable. We had the benefit of a small balcony with window boxes full of flowers, and those mountain views. The breakfast choice was from an extensive buffet, again very impressive. I have reviewed the restaurant separately.

Reviewed By Matthias MWir wollten einen Kaffee auf der Terrasse trinken mit Kuchen. Da noch keine Tische draußen waren aber bereits Stühle aus dem Restaurant, wollten wir gerne auch 2 Stühle haben. Leider war es zu viel Aufwand wenn wir diese selbst geholt hätten.... Wir sollen doch bitte drinnen im Dunkeln unser Kaffee trinken.... Schade, wir sind dann in ein flexibleres Restaurant....
