This is a great hotel, fantastic restaurant, and really nice staff. We stop going North and South. It is a break from road hotels and lousy food. Stop in. Best place on the Alcan. They will pick you up from the airport if you are flying through as well.

Meal scam!

Reviewed By kenpT2258XJ

Wife and I stopped there for the night and went to the restaurant. They offered a 3 course meal for $49.95/ person meal. We decided that we weren’t that hungry so just ordered a burger. When we got the bill they charged us $49.95 each! They said that is the price to eat in the dining room. I tried to talk to manager about making it clear before we ordered about the price and was only met with hostility. Most expensive hamburger I’ve ever had! And it wasn’t that good either.

Second time a disappointment.

I have stayed here in the past and was surprised to find it clean and comfortable. This time not so much. The bed was comfortable and the heater worked. The kitchen was a different story. The micro wave, range and fridge needed cleaning. The same with the bath tub. On the other hand, what do you expect for 80 dollars? The next time in Ft. Nelson, I will spring for a better and more expensive motel.

Cinnamon Buns!!!!!

Reviewed By calgaryguy

We stopped here for a coffee break. The campground looked quite nice, spread out, but we were here for the special, and were greeted with a freshly baked batch of their famous cinnamon buns. To die for. The best I have tasted since my mother passed away! And huge. My wife and I shared one, with sad coffee, and took the second one for the next day. Enjoyed it then, too. There is nothing like fresh from the oven. Enjoy.

Clean & Quiet!

I usually push through Ft Nelson on my journeys up and down the Alaska Highway. My experience with the motels in this town have not been terrific. They are usually dingy, quasi-clean; and noisy. However, Kacee's is different. It provides a quality clean basic room for the tired traveller. I will be definitely stopping here again...

thank you for many good stays

Reviewed By JenniferandAlan

My husband and I have driven the Alaska Highway to the Yukon many times and have stayed at this motel many times. I can remember when it had a restaurant (now suites on the far left). Every stay has been good. The rooms are spacious, the beds comfy, the bathrooms remodeled and clean with plenty of towels. There is wi fi and new TV. I usually ask for the first floor but forgot once and ended up upstairs but it turned out to be a good thing as there were northern lights that night and we could sit outside on the balcony and enjoy. The rooms have been modernized and repainted but I must say that I miss the bluebell color the rooms had in the past. You can gas up and get coffee with flavored creamers not found everywhere in the north. Across the highway is the Pub with good food. A good choice of motels.

I've stopped by Jack's Place more then a few times for their all day breakfast. Jack and his 2 son's run the Motel/ Restraunt. It really is a must stop scenic and historic place if your headed on through the mountains. They easily have the most amazing food here plus showers and a laundromat to keep you going on the drive. I highly recommend stopping in to grab a bite an read all of the funny wall art.
