nothing special, only overpriced
Reviewed By Ryszard WTravelling with my wife from one Chateau and Relais hotel to another, we are looking for something special. Landhaus Stricker is certainly no special, is only overpriced. Location of this hotel was carefully selected. Somebody was looking for spot with the longest distance from the beach and all tourist attractions, but close to train rails, airport field and on the edge of the only industrial zone on this island. So be prepared to use your car or at least, weather permitting, bikes. Nothing is within the walking distance, and there is no charm in walking around. There are two types of highly overpriced rooms: on the ground floor or some kind of duplex first floor. Avoid duplex – bed is located upstairs with steep, narrow and twisted stairs. Nobody will help you with your luggage, and bathroom is downstairs only. We are sporty types, but it was a real challenge. King bed in this hotel means two beds together and you can clearly see and feel the separation. Looking for the bright side – breakfasts are wonderful, with fresh and carefully selected ingredients. Delicious! Also Wi-fi works fine. Does it justify going there? Well, I don’t think so.

Sylt - austere beauty, pure enjoyment. Rough and wild at times, then bright and cheerful again - Sylt is untamed nature and Island indulgence all in one. A place of contrasts is precisely what makes it so appealing. The A-ROSA Sylt is nestled in the untouched dune landscape of Germany´s very north, where the oysters are extra fresh and the crowds are far away. Gourmets make culinary pilgrimages here, but also sun worshippers and people who simply want to get away from it all and recharge their batteries in the magnificent SPA-ROSA.

Reviewed By Mel LDespite the wonderful location on beautiful Sylt, this hotel disappointed. My husband and I stayed for 6 nights in July 2021, at a time when pandemic-related restrictions explained some our only so-so experience but not all. To begin with, although a quiet room away from the road was specifically requested, we were initially shown to a room with a view over a parking lot and road. After complaining, the front desk managed to get us a room on the other side of the hotel (facing the pool area), but it would have been so much nicer to have started with a room that met our requirements. It should be mentioned that although this is a modern hotel, there is no ventilation or air cooling in the rooms; therefore, sleeping with the windows open is essential as the room are otherwise stuffy. Secondly, the hotel offers no access to the sea due to the dunes which are off-limits, and no views of the sea from the public areas. Although our room had a partial (side) view of the sea, in order to enjoy views of the beach we had to leave the hotel property and walk along the public promenade (5-min walk). This is due to the rather strange architecture of the resort, which is big and boxy and not very open to the outdoors. The terraces of the restaurant and bar area are closed off and can only be accessed through the restaurant. And the fact that the only access to the pool area is via the spa also made us feel hemmed in. Food-wise the restaurant was of okay quality, but the fact of eating at a buffet-style restaurant for both breakfast and dinner, with no other option for a fancier meal in the evening, was limiting. Finally, the hotel made us pick a fixed seating time for breakfast in advance and stick with it due to Covid rules, which really felt like being on a schedule -- not cool while on holiday. It felt like this was for their convenience rather than the guests. On the positive side, the restaurant staff at A-Rosa Sylt were very friendly and went out of their way to accommodate the guests.

Nice but nothing special
Reviewed By Arjan VLets start to explain that book a hotel on Sylt is always crazy expensive situation. So Lindner Strand hotel is not an exception. While we were here during Corona time, we could not use any facilities of the hotel. The pool was closed even as the gym. The rooms are very simple. I had two single beds, the bathroom had a simple shower and the decoration of the rooms are a bit low budget. The noise from my neighbour above was not nice. The wooden floor has no insulation and is very noisy when somebody is walking around. The breakfast is ok, free coffee at the entrance is very nice. Also the location nearby the beach is good. The staff is not very friendly but ok. Paying more than 300 euro per night is totally rediculous.... but that seems to be normal at Sylt.

Reviewed By RJF210Second stay this year. This time 1 week in a spacious SPA Suite. Despite COVID measures everything was fine. Excellent Dinners in Hoog Restaurant. With regards to some comments on air con and rate level. This is Sylt and not Bali. Rates are in line with real estate prices. And usually Sylt is never tropical. Best recommendation is if guests return. We have already booked our 3 stay for this year looking forward coming in September.

Reviewed By 25RobBWe stayed here for one night during a flying trip to Sylt. We booked VERY last minute but the super friendly staff went all the way to get us a great apartment. Great location, clean and beautiful apartment, nice restaurants would definitely recommend to anybody visiting Sylt!

Three wonderful days
Reviewed By B_and_S__11We spent a long weekend at Dorint. Everything was perfect. We had a nice view towards the dunes. Fantastic breakfast until noon time. Good for a walk at the beach before breakfast. Staff was polite and acommodating. All wishes were fulfilled. It was a pity that there was no massage available although it was announced.

Reviewed By Marcus FA wonderful hotel, stylish inside even if the outside is a bit non descript. Very friendly staff and delicious breakfasts with great choice. Dinners were amazing. Four courses for christmas which were truly exceptional. The rooms are small but nicely decorated. On the 5th floor which has amazing views, tthere is a cosy bar and a spa with 2 saunas and a steambath and a sizable pool. Super relaxing to watch the waves of the sea from the 90 degree hot sauna. Location is perfect. Exactly at the beach. Wonderful Christmas. Thx.

Lovely hotel and perfection location
Reviewed By PkochThis was our first visit to Sylt and where do you stay. Sylter Domizil was a good choice, we stayed here five days and having a car you can get anywhere onthe Island from here. Our room was a comfort room, a bit larger than normal and it was great. Room # 72 in the corner on the first floor just above the restaurant. The room has two armchairs and a small table as wall as a desk. Large bathroom with a good shower. The beds were very comfortable and we slept very well. The Sylter Domizil is well located and only a short walking distance to the beach and close to the bus. There is a wellness area in the basement but we had a look at it and decided to skip it. It looked nicer on the pictures than in real life. Private parking. Coming back to Sylt we would stay here again.

We had a great day, booked three rooms with a lovely balcony with an epic main street view. I was so stupid, that I forgot my favorite sunglasses at the hotel, which they returned by postal package to my private home adress in Denmark three weeks late. Thank you so much!
