Reviewed By danielrZ6907XFFirst I wanted to stay 1 day at the mudhouse, but at the end I stayed 5. Such an nice place in the really chill beachtown Mompiche. The owners are lovely and make you feel at home. The rooms are clean and nice and the kitchen is in good condition. Really recomend this place if you go to Mompiche.

MARACUMBO offer Camping and Cabins, surrounded by pure nature in the middle of the green, you would hear the hauler-monkeys, see a lots of birds and other creatures which share this beautiful place with us. The comunal kitchen, a fireplace and a slack-line is also on the site. We rent out surfboards and tents. There is a 4pers cab, 5person dorm and a 2person cab. Time to relax; always!
Amazing place to camp in Mompiche
Reviewed By alextrendsLoved this peaceful, tranquil place to camp. Simple, good value and clean. The tent was the perfect size and came with a good mattress and blankets. A very short walk from the beach and the shops etc. There are lots of flies at night in this region so don’t forget to bring deet or insect repellent. The owner has a cat and dogs which are super friendly and all part of the experience.

Sleep? Not Much!
Reviewed By Jim MAs reviewers "cl forever" and "briffaman" imply, sleep at La Facha should not be high on your priority list! We got very little since our room also looked over the very loud party room (most do), without a closable window and the party went until about 2:30 am... not so pleasant for us. I have to say though, the music was good :-) In the morning when we couldn't sleep through the heat any longer we packed up and let Tito know we were not his type of customer. He was very nice, ageed with us, and suggested some other places. As we were leaving, another couple with kids looked pretty grim as they and their sleep deprived children stumbled down the 3 flights of stairs from their "view" room. I took the opportunity to look at the view from their room - it was a thin sliver of beach visible between the motels that sit in front of La Facha, a second row location. I'll add a little to "cl forevers" maintenance comment... bugs. Yep, little bitty ones, with big bites! They were living behind the shelves and visited our bed while we slept, raising dozens of big itchy welts on us both by the time we awoke. We are both accustomed to bug problems when we do extended wilderness hiking and river trips, but I have to say have never worried about them in a rented room! So, you party folks, this might be your place! You might want to visit though before you book?

Reviewed By Inga_K_KA great place to stay! At the edge of village, the hostal is right next to sea – but the village is so small that you can easily walk everywhere. In low tide you can walk on the beach, and on high tide which happens to be at night the sea rolls is and you can sleep listening to it. You can also swim during the high tide right next to the hostal (in other places sea rolls right up to malecon). The room I had was on the upper floor, spacious, with sea view. The bed was comfortable, the shower warm. The breakfast was lovely, now I know what good bolones de verde should taste like. Totally recommended!

Reviewed By JennygracielaThe resort itself is beautiful. Food is ok. Drinks not that great. The days we visited we couldn’t enjoy the beach because of the weather but that is just Mother Nature. We settled for the pools which are nice. I have visited plenty of all inclusive resorts around the world and kind of know what to expect. Unfortunately, I was unpleasantly surprised with this one. Usually, after a long trip even though check in is at 3:00pm in my other experiences they let you in the lobby. Other resorts make you feel welcome from the beginning. They let you relax and serve you drinks until your room is ready. Not this one! We arrived around 1:30pm after a long drive (7 hours) with a group of 15 including my 85 year old mother at the gate they told us we had to wait outside until 2:30pm. Why ??? I don’t get it. They should at least make you wait at the lobby. One good thing I do have to mention is that they did give me a ground floor for my mom upon request. Because this resort has a lot of stairs if you are on one of the top floors be prepare to do a lot of up and down stairs. The rooms were nice big and clean. The food was standard resort food. Since we were a big group it was hard trying to make reservations for the specialty restaurants. We had to split our group. We ate at the Acantilado. Seafood was good. Now the drinks need a lot of improvement. Resorts in general serve the cheapest liquor but usually have the local beer which I was looking forward to. NO PILSENER OR CLUB what a disappointment. My family and I are Ecuadorean and we speak Spanish so we can communicate with the staff. International resorts usually have bilingual staff. Honestly, Besides the manager I don’t know if anyone else speak another language. Overall it was a 50/50 experience. Like I said before the location and facilities itself are superb, food is as expected. Drinks need a lot of improvement, customer service was standard. Definitely not 5 stars. I’ll give it 3.

Splendid Stay in a paradise called Mompiche
Reviewed By zuloagaclubWe booked a flight to Quito and rented a car to go straight to Mompiche, the drive took us about 3 to 4 hours, while enjoying the road trip, we made our plan to stay at the Seaside Garden Ecolodge, and right from the start, their team was very helpful. We arrived a bit late in the afternoon so they assisted us right through the town center to reach the Ecolodge. Driving on the Beach sand was certainly a very nice way to start of the holiday. We stayed the first day at the Lodge, which is a perfect place where to just relax, and enjoy the view and the nature, On the second day, we visited Mompiche and its surroundings, from an amazing beach with black sand to the other sea tours and a natural pool at the sea. Aldo and the Team of the Seaside made our stay just perfect helping us out with every single requirement and may say a great price as well.

"The sea and the beach naturally in a special place." Cabañas Iruña / Las Pigualas is a complex of rustic but comfortable cabins in perfect balance with nature. Located directly on the beach and far enough from the village of Mompiche. It's lovely to access it only by the beach, either on foot or by car with due respect for tide times. A magnificent, wild beach where you can walk through 2 kms on Both Sides. The food deserves a special chapter. Teresa's hands, its owner, produce homemade delicacies worthy of the best restaurant. Wonderful "cuisine". I could taste an exquisite "carpaccio" also prawns in coconut sauce, fish and a delicious passion fruit mousse. Very good breakfasts with delicious homemade breads and sweets. Is a fantastic blend enjoy these delicious things in a rough and rustic setting. And a plus, excellent music.
My favorite spot in Mompiche
Reviewed By kimberlyrayaWe stayed at a few different places during our trip to Ecuador, but I must say this little place was my favorite. We prefer remote accommodations and this spot gave us exactly what we love as introverted travelers. A fun fact about staying here is that you can only access the cabanas during low tide, so you’ll need to plan your outings accordingly. The bungalow we stayed in was perfectly placed on the beach and we were lucky enough that no one had reserved rooms nearby during our stay. The bed had a mosquito net on top, so we were well-protected…at least after we figured out how to use it correctly! We loved the rustic feel of the room, but if you are looking for “5-star accommodations”, you might be a little uncomfortable here. However, it was exactly what we were looking for, rustic and off-the-grid…so it was 5-star for us. The owner, Teresa, has a lovely little restaurant right next to the cabanas, so if you don’t want to venture into the city, you have everything you need right there. The food was YUMMY. And the garlic sauce she serves with the plantains is so good, I tried making it myself after I returned home. In fact, every meal she served was delicious and she was able to serve us red wine with dinner, which is difficult to find in the Mompiche area. On our last day there, Teresa arranged a trip for us with a local fisherman to go by boat through the mangroves behind the lodge. It was enchanting, as was our entire stay at Cabanas Las Pigualas.

Sangara Posada & Camping, is a nice place to rest and enjoy the paradise island of Portete, full of coconut-palms, an astonishing beach, nice waves to practice watersports, and a beautifull estuary . Our house and cabins respect the enviroment and surrounding landscape, we have private rooms and cabins, camping area, shared kitchen, kayak and bongo canoe, many hammocks and good vibes to share.

Reviewed By AntonTeplyyA very nice place near a small bay. I camped here for 3 nights. They have all the stuff for good camping (showers, a roof for a tent, kitchen with cooking stuff, hammocks). Take some repelent with you! There were a lot of small flies.

Mompiche d’abord, tout ce que l’on aime, petit village de pêcheur, vivant et local. “Où il fait bon vivre simplement.” Suzanne est super, arrangeante et de bons conseils, avec de very nice goûts musicaux :) Logement propre et spacieux, rien à dire! Location juste parfaite.. C’est quand même un must de s’endormir au son du bruit des vagues... Definitely loved it ?
