Excellent location, great value for monez

The room we had was on the second story and had a large balcony with a panoramic view of the surrounding hills. the room itself was very spacious, so there was plenty of room to unfold suitcases etc. there is also additional public space on the top floor with stunning views. Breakfast was delicious, with fresh bread, and all the other bells and whistles. the entry way is nothing to write home about, but frankly, who cares? The rest of the hotel is quality.

Comfortable accommodation in central location

Booked via booking.com and took a family appartment with two bedrooms although there were only two of us, as this was the only room available in Mariazell via booking.com at the time of reservation. The hotel has clearly been very recently renovated so all the furnishings are in excellent condition. The hotel is quietly located but very central, just a stone's throw from the Bürgeralpe cable car station and about a five minute walk from the basilica. The beds and chairs were very comfortable and we had our own balcony. I think we had the only room in the hotel with its own balcony but there was also a communal sun terrace available. A wide range of dishes were available from the breakfast buffett and when scrambled eggs were offered, they were freshly made. There is no lift and we were on the second floor so we wished we had taken two small suitcases instead of one large one as they would have been easier to move up and downstairs. We found a (cheap) parking space outside the front door for a limited time period when we arrived and were lucky enough to find free parking nearby for the rest of our stay. We felt comfortable in this hotel and would return.

Only a 5-8 minute pleasant walk separates us from the pilgrimage church and the main ski lift in downtown Mariazell. The hotel lies in wonderful surroundings and is still easy to reach by every means of transportation. We provide free parking to our guests whether they arrive by car or bus right at the hotel.

Reviewed By Denes222Located cca 500m from ski slopes. Hidden a bit, but offers free parking close by. Old style, refurbishment could be a good option. Rooms are rather small, just like the bathrooms. Couple places to get together for companies, friends during the night. Table tennis, billiard, soccer table and playroom for littles are available. Staff is friendly and helpful. Food was okay but not too much to choose from. Beer and glüchwine is on reasonable price. They provide free wifi, but not available in the rooms and quite slow. You can not pay with credit card. Low price, not that cozy hotel, but good staff.

Perfect hotel in the city center
Reviewed By dejbotuThe hotel is in the city center, you are next to the Basilica. You can reach almost everything by walk in the city. The room was clean, the bed is comfortable, we didn't hear any noise from outside. Almost the whole crew is hungarian. The breakfast is typicall austrian breakfast, so-so delicious. A szállás központi helyen van, szinten minden elérhető sétával. A szobák tiszták, az ágy kényelmes, kintről hangok egyáltalán nem szűrődtek be. A személyzet magyar. A reggeli finom volt. The bathroom is horrible small, for a bigger man could be problem to use it normally. The room is simply, despite clean and comfortable. A fürdőszoba rettentő kicsi, egy termetesebb embernek már problémás lehet a szűk hely. A szoba egyszerű, ennek ellenére tiszta és kényelmes.

Our house is located 3 km from the center of Mariazell. Hiking trails lead right from the house along. Salza, the ravine is known for its natural swimming. The Erlaufsee is within 10 minutes. Our ski and mountain recreation, the Bürgeralm and the Gemeindealm reached in 5 minutes. The heated pool is in a 3500 m2 park.

Там находится невероятной красоты величественный Храм Рождества девы Марии, в центре которого хранится христианская реликвия - древняя скульптура девы Марии с младенцем на руках. Статуэтка из липы, высотой 48 см, одета в богатые одежды. По одной из версий некоего монаха послали разведать о новых землях, подаренных монастырю, на память о родных пенатах монах и взял с собой эту статуэтку. Когда же на его дороге выросла скала, которую было «не объехать, ни обойти», монах горячо помолился перед своей святыней и скала раскололась надвое, образовав проход. На этом месте и был построен Храм. Народ горячо молится перед ней, каждый о своём, помолилась и я. Свечи ставят не в самой базилике, а почему-то в отдельном помещении, похожем на пещеру - бросаешь в ящик для пожертвований один евро и берёшь свечу, которую потом ставишь в нишу на специальную металлическую подставочку, подставок очень много. Зажигают свечу от «главной», большой свечи, стоящей в центе этой пещеры. Темнота, благоговение и множество горящих свечей, каждая из которых - чья-то надежда.. Гид очень много рассказывал нам о Храме, жаль вот только, что все на венгерском? Понравилась одна традиция: перед причастием люди, сидящие на службе, в какой-то момент обращаются друг к другу и восторженно хватают друг друга за руки, чуть ли не со слезами на глазах трясут твои руки, гладят их и что-то хорошее говорят друг другу, причём на разных языках! Я в ответ просто благодарила их по-русски, понимая, что они мне говорят что-то очень доброжелательное и совершенно искренне. Торжественно играл орган, люди что-то пели, вероятней всего, псалмы. Великолепный Храм, намоленное место, народ со светлыми лицами. Думаю, что благодать ощутили все - и паломники, и туристы, и верующие, и неверующие.. В самом Храме, по бокам, двенадцать часовен со своими алтарями и исповедальными кабинками. Как я поняла, каждая часовня для отдельной страны - висит флаг страны и надпись на соответствующем языке. Мои «сопаломники» венгры зашли в свою часовню и что-то спели очень дружно и хором (Псалом? Гимн страны?) Перед входом в Храм и выходом из него верующие подходят к каменной резной чаше со святой водой, окунают в неё пальцем крестятся, а во время службы - нет. Крестятся слева направо. Для нас, православных, все это, конечно, непривычно. Непривычно и то, что все женщины с непокрытыми головами, в брюках, причём одна из них, одетая так, даже помогала служить батюшке. Что-то типа нашего алтарника. Очень удобные лавочки, с небольшой подставочкой, куда прихожане кладут Книги, по которым поют псалмы. Если есть необходимость встать на колени, то делать это очень удобно, можно даже не вставать с лавочки - просто поставить колени на специальную подставочку (что, если честно, мне очень сильно понравилось с моими проблемными суставами). Единственное НО - одевайтесь теплее, кто поедет туда зимой (а ехать надо обязательно!), там в начале декабря на улице было -5 и ветрено, и по моим ощущениям, Храм отапливался только тёплым дыханием людей. Одета была я соответственно тёплой погоде ласкового венгерского Хевиза и замёрзла я за службу весьма основательно! Хотя служба и длится всего час, что для православных тоже непривычно. От простуды меня, московского чахлика и опытного астматика, спасла наверное, все же эта чудотворная скульптура. Аве, Мария! Аллилуйя.

Dobry hotel na jedną noc
Reviewed By rp992Hotel nieduży. Przestronny pokój 4 osobowy. Łazienka bardzo mała. Hotel wymaga remontu. Wieczorem było dość zimno w pokoju. Zgłosiliśmy i była szybka reakcja obsługi. Skromne śniadanie. Minusem jest palenie papierosów w recepcji. Ceny kolacji przystępne. Pizza dość smaczna.

Perfect for what we needed
Reviewed By Lochy82We were two couples passing through Mariazel looking for a decent place to stay the night... and we found it. Although check in was supposed to be 4pm, we arrived earlier and it was no problem to be checked in. Even got an upgrade as the hotel was very quite. Rooms are modestly appointed. Nothing fancy, yet nothing offensive either. I can well imagine this place being very busy in the winter months. Staff were very friendly, professional and only too willing to help with anything we needed. We walked around town looking for a place to have dinner and actually settled on having dinner at the restaurant attached to the hotel. We read some reviews saying the service was slow and so had to laugh when we found this to be true. Even though, the waiter was only too willing to oblige our every whim. Very curtious and patient with our terrible use of the Austrian language. Considering we had nowhere else to be, waiting a little longer for a meal really isn’t the end of the world. The food was incredible and very reasonably priced for what we got. In the end it was four happy people who couldn’t eat or drink another thing. All in all the hotel was perfect for a quick stop over. We wish we could have stayed longer to explore the area a bit more, but had a wedding to attend in Judenburg. ps- loved the antlers

ein paar Mitbewohner zuviel…
Reviewed By GreaselybaerPositiv sei anzumerken, dass die Korrespondenz vorab gut über die Buchungsplattform klappte, man bekam rasch Antworten auf Fragen und einen Code für den Schlüsselsafe. Die Ortstaxe und das ausgefüllte Gästeformular musste man bei Abreise samt Schlüssel am Tisch liegen lassen. Ich wusste, aufgrund der Bilder, dass die Einrichtung nicht meinem Stil entspricht, aber ich dachte mir, dass ich darüber hinwegsehen kann, wenn alles sauber ist. Jetzt im Nachhinein gesehen bin ich der Meinung, dass es definitiv viel sauberer hätte sein müssen, so muss man eine Wohnung einem Gast nicht überlassen. Gleich beim Betreten der Wohnung habe ich zwei Spinnen im Netz neben dem Eingang entdeckt, im Lauf der Zeit weitere unten bei der Stehlampe neben dem Bett und neben einer Stellage im Bad. Anzeichen von weiteren tierischen Aktivitäten gab es, da viele Spinnweben auf der Decke oder den Holzsesseln zu sehen waren. Das hat definitiv mit Unsauberkeit zu tun und sollte vor einem neuen Gast beseitigt werden. Unsauber war auch der Toaster in der Küche, der auf einem Kasten oben stand und den ich gleich wieder zurückstellte weil er so schmutzig war. Auch unter dem Bett befand sich Kartonmüll von Süßigkeiten (von welchem Vorbewohner auch immer), das ist auf jeden Fall auch grauslich. Zu den Zimmern: Wohn/Schlafraum: 1 Deckenbeleuchtung im Raum war kaputt, Gottseidank waren die anderen ausreichend, es gab auf keiner Seite des Doppelbettes ein Nachtkästchen, das fehlte sehr, ich verwendete dann einen Sessel vom Tisch. Im Kasten gab es sehr viele Kleiderhaken, was positiv anzumerken ist. TV funktionierte gut, man hatte viele Sender. WLAN Empfang sehr gut, Telefonempfang leider sehr schlecht, das Bett knarrte sehr, kaum dass man sich drauflegte, die eine Matratze auf der linken Seite war nicht zum Liegen, da man richtig die Federn spürte, die rechte Seite war besser, Kopfpolster sehr dünn. Die Fenster ließ ich zu, es waren Doppelfenster, dazwischen Pölster (für den Winter), damit es nicht kalt reingeht, somit einziges zu öffnendes Fenster war das in der Küche. Küche: es erfolgt im Haus eine Mülltrennung (Behältnisse finden sich in der Garage), es gab genug Mistkübeln, zwei in der Küche, davon stellte ich mir gleich einen in den Wohnraum. Geschirr war genug vorhanden, ich hoffe, dass es „irgendwann“ vom Betreiber selbst ab und an durchgewaschen wird, weil wer weiß, wie gründlich die Mieter sind, die es zurücklassen. Es gab auch ein Wischtuch, Geschirrtücher, Spülmittel, Wasserkocher, die Kaffeemaschine brauchte ich nicht und habe sie aus Sicherheitsgründen dort belassen, wo sie war, nämlich sehr hoch oben auf einem Regal. Bad: es gab nur 2 ¼ Klorollen, ich musste welche besorgen, ließ den nicht benötigten Rest vor Ort, leider nur ein Licht oberhalb der Tür, somit war der Spiegel sehr spärlich beleuchtet, es gab genug Ablageflächen, aber keine WC Papierhalterung, obwohl genug Platz gewesen wäre. Alles in allem hätte ich mir, trotz des günstigen Preises, den ich ergattert hatte, mehr Annehmlichkeiten gewünscht und vor allem Sauberkeit. Möglicherweise gab es die in den oberen Appartments, im Morzinapp. musste nach ihr gesucht werden.
