Comfortable room
Reviewed By AnnKznOur room was good with all that we needed. There was coffee available in the room which we like to have. The shower was very good. Plugs were enough for us to charge our electronics. As a bicycle friendly hotel we found the storage available was odd to say the least, in a garage full of restaurant equipment etc, hardly enough room for our two bicycles. Breakfast was nice but not fantastic. The buffet was small and it appears we were the last for breakfast as there wasn’t much left. Check in and out was at the bar as no one was at reception which is on the 1st floor, bit strange!! Also only one person at the bar trying to serve the tables then also do check in/out, he looked stressed.

Too hot to sleep
Reviewed By Steve BClean Hotel, modern but let down by poor AC in my opinion, the lowest temperature which can be selected is 18 degrees which I find is too warm to sleep comfortably, Windows if opened let in road noise as the Hotel is close to a busy road so sleeping with open windows is also difficult. Number one function of a hotel is to facilitate sleep. Asked for a fan to supplement AC but even this is problematic. Not possible for the kitchen to make a fried egg for breakfast. Reception is only manned for limited hours during the day.

Reviewed By Anewto8Do not stay at this awful place we got to our hotel earlier than expected when we reached there the door was locked only to be open by an old rude woman who told me I could not check in until, I said that I understand that but I've travelled all the way from london! She shut the door in my face only to leave us sitting outside,and told us to come back at 4pm. You wouldn't even let your own enemy sit outside in the scorching heat and she had already taken my money. She not once offered for a glass of water bearing in mind it was very hot and no shops or restraunts around us,all she was interested in was going out with her daughter who apparently lives around the corner, the locals were shocked as we were sitting outside they requested us to go to the daughters hous. I hope know one experiences the same issues the customer service was awful, I travel all around the world and have never known such a late check in fair enough 4pm is the time given all I was asking for is for her to offer us to sit in the bar not waiting in the heat for 4 hours I would never travel to Belgium again the only reason I booked this place was because of festival. DO NOT STAY HERE !!!!! RUDE OLD WOMAN

Reviewed By MrsfunnyThis is somewhat of an acquired taste. It's a pretty new hotel, with a thoroughly modern look. The rooms have lots of lights, including BRIGHT ones, so you'll be able to get as much or little light as you want, once you've worked out which the right switches are. The bathroom has glass walls with artwork on (naked women in pink in my room, others have different designs and colours), which might not suit everyone. There is a large blind which can be pulled down over the glass wall facing the rest of the bedroom if required, which is where the excellent rain + wand shower is. My room had 2 single beds pushed together, a small chez longue type sofa, and a couple of block stools of different heights, one of which was fine to sit at the desk and work for a short period - no back support of course. There is a large TV and a drinks tray with kettle (powdered milk supplied). The reception is on the first floor, where the breakfast is served, and it's best to use the (not so fast and often self-cancelling the call request) lift to get around the hotel, as the grey concrete stairwells don't seem each to access many floors, so are really meant for emergency exit use only. There is no on site restaurant serving food in the evenings, which didn't suit me on this particular trip as I wasn't feeling well so was forced to go out when I'd have rather stayed in. On another occasion that wouldn't have bothered me at all. They do serve breakfast, which offered some hot and cold food, and there was a machine making juice from freshly squeezed oranges which was nice touch, but on balance the breakfast had less to offer than many business hotels. On the plus side, it was included in the room rate, as was parking in the underground car park, so it was cheaper than average. They also didn't enforce the 48 hour cancellation terms when I left early due to feeling ill, which was nice. The hotel is well located for access by car, situated on the N71 just south of the town, which is about a 15 minute/1.5km walk away. Overall rating 3/5

Lommelhof hotel is a homey, cozy and welcoming hotel. An ideal starting point for business and leisure travelers. Located 500m from the center and in the immediate vicinity of the industrial Lommel and beautiful nature, as the Sahara (a desert landscape with a bright blue lake surrounded by fragrant pine woods), the Pijnven (a landscape of moorland and Corsican pine ever planted for timber in the mines as a prop to come), Kattenbos (state forest with the German Military Cemetery) and Wetering (a historical irrigationarea). The hotel is a non-smoking area, except special smoking room. The hotel also has a TV room with a reading table. Our comfortable rooms are all furnished with two twin beds, television, telephone, desk and (free) WIFI-Internet system. The bathroom has a bath / shower, toilet and sink.

Reviewed By SURYANARAYANA GThis was so nice place for business trips in Lommel town. We spent about 3 months there and enjoyed a lot in this hotel. The staff's hospitality was excellent and receives the guest very well and understands the needs.

House Across Borders Lommel is a facility within the youth work of the German War Grave Commission and is in the direct vicinity of the German military cemetery of Lommel. 39.108 victims of the First and Second World War have a last resting place here. On one hand, the House is an educational centre. On the other it's a group accommodation which offers guests 67 beds, a kitchen with dining room and a conference room and free time area. Reviewed By allotribusAccording to acceptable standards, you can't even call this a hotel. I travel quite a bit and have seen some bad hotels, but this place is a dump. The story ends for me with hygiene, at least, everything has to be clean. The room I stayed in wasn't, a lot of dust, also under the bed, remnants of soap in the shower and insects. The coffee machine had an old, used paper filter in it, maybe from the last guests and was covered with mold. Furthermore, the furniture was extremely outdated and in bad condition, probably second hand left overs. The sanitairy facilities were from the seventies. The light above the mirror was broken, so shaving was not possible. The room was very small, with barely any space to move around or to place your suitcase. The mattresses were way too soft and uncomfortable. Breakfast was brought down to an absolute minimum. Edible. Period. The reason for booking this was the short distance to my work, seven car minutes and the fact that it was the last room in the last hotel in Lommel at that time. Booked it for three nights, needless to say that I didn't want to stay any minute longer, so I left the next day and booked a hotel thirty car minutes away.
