Cosy hotel in the centrum of Husum
Reviewed By T1990VUpeterfThe 3rd stay - but the first time in rooms in the historical part of the hotel. That was very cosy and we enjoyed sitting in the main areas. The spa is nice and we had it for our own! As the hotel is in the centrum, there was no need for using the car. It was easy to walk around in the area. The breakfast has been the only area where we would expect more from a 5 star hotel. Neither fresh fruit nor cereals/nuts have been available. And if you are not for fish in the morning the selection is missing some variety. But we did not leave hungry…

Still a good choice
Reviewed By NemoTravelerWe stayed two nights on a road trip to Schleswig-Holstein and Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. The Theodor Storm Hotel is located close to the Husum Castle (Schloss vor Husum), and not far from the shopping and harbor area with several restaurants. We chose the hotel based on a previous stay a couple of years ago, and in general found this is still a good choice. Friendly and helpful staff at the front desk welcomed us and informed us of present covid-19 measures. These included a number of changes in breakfast and housekeeping procedures during our stay. This was handled well, and on the second morning it was a pleasant surprise to see that breakfast was the usual buffet style. Everything was handled in a good manner and the breakfast was okay the first morning and very good the second. The room itself was spacious with nice amenities such as coffee making facilities. Our room faced the back of the building and was quiet and reasonably clean. Paid parking is available behind the hotel at EUR 7 per night. The general standards of the hotel are high, and I would recommend the lot be updated and trees and bushes be cut back to allow for better space around the vehicles.

A good place to stay
Reviewed By Huurman1968Me and my friend stayed here for one night. The room was spacious, tidy and clean. There are spa facilities but didn't used them because there was no time at all. The hotel lies on the outskirts of the town and it's very easy to find, just 45 minutes from Hamburg. The bar is not really special so we suggest to go in to town centre for a bit of fun. There's nothing we can say about the restaurant because we had a meal in the town centre. Breakfast however is great, it's one of the most extensive breakfast buffet I've ever seen so far.

Reviewed By Nina FCentral hotel with parking facilities, (5 euros / day) in the courtyard. Newly renovated in stylish design. Comfortable beds and clean rooms. Good breakfast with a wide selection. Grade 3 because there is no AC and hard to sleep with windows open due to traffic and rail just outside. (Please offer guests a table fan to the room and free earplugs.) Large divided in size (3m2) at the lux rooms, so to be noted at the time of booking.

Most rude receptionist and very smelly room
Reviewed By Bblenstrup1I had invited my family for 2 nights at the hotel as I wanted to celebrate my birthday. Because I wanted it to be a great stay for the entire family I booked a Four Star hotel. I could have wanted to save some money and booked a cheaper hotel in Husum but I did not. However when we got our rooms our room was smelly very small and not a 4 Star room at all. Therefore we made a complaint and the receptionist was the most rude person I have ever come across. She told us we got what we paid for ?♀️ it have paid for a 4 Star hotel but I got a room that was nothing near a 2 Star hotel!!! She had no intention of seeking a solution but offered us the possibility to get another room for an extra 100 euro for 2 nights. I must say that I am extremely disappointed - I chose a better hotel in order to celebrate my birthday and It was all ruined due to an extremely arrogant and unpleasant receptionist who I hope is an employee and not the owner. And should it be an employee if would sack her immediately should she be my employee.

Our apartments are located at the end of a quiet street in Schobuell, which is probably the most idyllic part of Husum. The domicile provides comfortable apartments with exalted furnishings and sees itself as a starting point for many opportunities and activities. Discover the extensive grounds and gardens with its old trees and a pond. Have a great time in nature and in the healthy clean air from the sea at the Beltringharder Koog. Treat yourself with the unique landscape in and around Schobuell. Located directly at the Northern Sea, without dikes but with gorgeous sunsets, miles of beautiful view.

Big free Parking, big room with seperate sleeping, kitchen with fridge, coffe-maker and all you need of glasses/cups etc. Flat-screen TV, nice veranda, super-clean and Wi-Fi. Only minor minus is that you probably need a Nevigator to find the place quickly. The garden has a nice fish-pond with seating around a barbecue-pit to use by guests. There is even a small play-ground for kids.

The rooms are clean, but on the smaller side and while updated they have a slight dated feel to it. The light house tower where most of the spa rooms located and treatments are booked offers great views. The biggest disappointment however was the restaurant. There was only one server on staff and the service was extremely slow. The salad tasted great, but otherwise the food was bland, cold and overcooked. It took the waitress forever to come back and ask if I was interested in anyone else than a main course. After a long wait I ordered dessert, which she forgot the first time and I had to order it twice. The dessert, a Creme Brûlée was a complete fail. It was cold, no warm crust and the creme had curdled to a consistency of cottage cheese. The waitress never came back to ask how enjoyed my dinner. Not sure how this restaurant ever got it’s rating, it certainly isn’t worth a two star rating.

In front of the entrance there are fun 'beach screens' - funny, but practical, especially for guests who smoke and people waiting for transport. Nice place, clean rooms. Very tasty breakfasts. Service ok, although it could be nicer. Good for a short trip.

Worst of the hotels I’ve stayed in in Husum
Reviewed By troelsk472Have been going a lot to Husum for work and stayed in different hotels in the city. Rooms are clean but don’t get restocked when you use shampoo etc. showers are old and very hard to adjust so one minute your in freezing water and the next it’s scolding hot. Lastly the breakfast buffet is a joke. There is hardly any food and if you ask to get it restocked it takes them 30 minutes to bring out a plate with 10 slices of bacon for the entire restaurant. Forget about anything else.
