Reviewed By Curious39063330374Rooms are extremely noise, group of young people were drunk and on drugs, but hotel was not aware of the nuisance. Rooms were ok. Breakfast was good. People were friendly but did not get the feeling they really cared about our compliants. Not fare from the zoo, but surroundings are uninteressing

Ambitious golf course, good food, friendly staff

If you ard looking for friendly staff, good food and an ambitious golf course, than you are at the right location. We stayed here for 2 nights in a suite. Okay, the suite was not not as spacious and luxurious as expected, but everything was clean and the room was well equipped. The first evening we enjoyed a 5 course dinner, this was very tasty. The hotel team was always very friendly and very supportive ! We plan to return again.

Reviewed By 224willemvDuring the Covid I had not been seeing my daughter, het husband and son for two months. So, I was lucky that there was something open. A B&B in the City near the train station. The building is a large house with beautiful details. Inside I was welcomed by the owner and we had a short Nice chat. The room was at the attic, no problem at all. I was inpressed by the way everything was maintained and constructed. So nice that you almost forget it is for travellers. Anyway, lovely breakfast and a must for the traveller that wants to have a very Nice experience and feelings like home.

Vriendelijke mensen, alles super netjes en schoon, net ontbijt met hard- of zachtgekookt ei en keuze uit o.a. meerdere soorten home made jam en verschillende broodjes. In de gezamenlijke huis-/eetkamer staat een koelkast met drinken, dat je kunt kopen. De B&B ligt lekker rustig, maar ook vlakbij het centrum van Emmen. We kregen ook nog een tip voor gratis parkeren voor Wildlands. Klein nadeel is de gezamenlijke badkamer, maar het delen ging bij ons prima, ondanks dat het druk was. Zeker een aanrader.

Proper hotel with good restaurant
Reviewed By LeonvM77Like all Van Der Valks this is a good hotel, clean, friendly staff and located in a easy to reach spot. The restaurant is good as well, they serve a good lunch and sound dinner as well for a fair price.

Poorly maintained wonderland
Reviewed By DistinctBamBefore we start: If you find yourself reading this after you’ve already arrived, first up I’m very sorry for the disappointments you’ll likely experience. Take frequent trips to Emmen, it’s a really nice town. I have great memories of this place when I was a kid. I was horrified when I saw how this place looks now. First off: it’s a blast for kids or in our case adults in their 25s/30s who wanted to revisit old memories. Lots of activities, water boating, sports, you name it. But man, was that house ever filthy. Set aside at least one day of cleaning and re-doing the bedsheets. Plus, there’re signs of disuse everywhere. It’s like this place was built at some point and subsequently never once visited by staff or management since. We could see and smell the people who were here before us. There was hair on the bed, the kitchen surface, the toilet and the sofa - the sofa! That in particular really turned my stomach. There were stains, scratch-marks of generations of dogs, a heavy layer of dust and what we assumed to be kitchen grease, mixed with the aforementioned hair. We had to spend a solid day of our holidays just deep-cleaning. Cleaning supplies we had to buy ourselves, mind you. If you come to Sandur, accept the reality of this: nobody cares if you’re living in a dirty home. You can complain, send in the feedback slip, even talk to management - nobody will clean up the mess if you don’t do it yourself. Lastly: Make sure you visit April or later, otherwise many of the activities will be closed to you, particularly water activities. And even then, don’t expect everything to be open. On the positive side, the Sauna and Whirlpool in the VIP house were nice.

Excellent friendly hotel
Reviewed By jonathanl64I spent one night here after a very long train journey, arriving about 21.30. It is a lovely hotel, I was greated warmly, the staff were friendly, and the room was comfortable. I cannot recommend it more highly. It was quiet and clean, the breakfast was lovely, and the staff very helpful.
