Our family loved every minute of it

Just back from staying in the hostel with my daughter and children. I was never on a farm before. Very peaceful, fresh air and happy animals. Very modern bathroom, and I was pleased that they thought of putting on a notice of instructions for using their very modern shower, never saw that in hotels. Great location for Claremorris town, Knock and Westport and excellent value for money. Thanks Mary and Eddie.

Simple standard pub fare in the west of Ireland and all the better for that!

Old fashioned hotel right in the middle of Claremorris. We stopped off to eat on our way to Galway, on a beautiful day in Springtime – a fire was lit but wasn’t really necessary. The décor is decidedly old-fashioned – a framed and faded advert for Redbreast JJ liquer, 12 years old and costing 16 shillings! The menu was simple standard pub fare in the west of Ireland and all the better for that, especially when washed down with a creamy Guinness! Roast beef or ham, cabbage, carrots, parsnips and potatoes. Portions were generous and well presented - delicious and definitely not a light bite! Good service by friendly and helpful staff who advised us on local attractions and activities.

Oakdale Manor was not what I expected from the reviews

Reviewed By nicolaK5361IK

Nice accommodation, the bedding needs to be changed to summer bedding as we had to take off all duvets and cushions as it was so warm the shower was extremely small, but breakfast was poor full breakfast consisted of 3 sausage and scrambled egg, I asked for my fried eggs to be well done but the yolks were runny and had been cooked in the same pan as the sausage so were black on the underside, continental breakfast consisted of lots of cereal and grapefruit, the owner came into the breakfast room and was talking about what value you get there for you're money which I think is unprofessional I won't be staying there again
