Built in Spanish style, the hotel is surrounded by stunning mountain views and a well-kept garden, the indoor pool is very pleasant, a children's playground, excellent service, the staff is professional, attentive and courteous. The hotel owner Tania Delgado Tello is a lovely, warm and cordial woman. Dora Delgado Aman A caring woman who wholeheartedly cared for us to make our stay at the hotel pleasant. Reviewed By alplanLocated in a quieter part of the town very close to the thermal springs with a great roof top view of the waterfall. Local art is on every wall and is for sale which gives the place a unique feel to it. Our room had been newly painted, but was nothing to write home about. We had a comfortable quiet nights sleep. Its very odd that if your room is in the courtyard you walk through the kitchen to get to the main part of the hotel. The owner let us park our motorbike in the secure courtyard. Food was good

Reviewed By janphilipb2021The whimsical architectural aesthetic may be worth the visit but the inner courtyard filled with orchids and fruits is dazzling as well. Seemingly designed by the resident artists/owners, all the rooms and public spaces are a delight. Lovely, richly colored murals abound as do sidewalk mosaics of equally colorful interest. Rooms are large and comfortable and clean. Saving the best for last, it may be worth the trip (or vaux le voyage as la Guide would say) is the breakfast. They make their own granola, strawberry marmalade, yogurt, butter and several sourdough breads. Eggs are cooked to perfection as well. Fresh juice and fruit are, as everywhere in Ecuador, offered. And, as a bonus, the ions from the roaring river alongside and the dense vegetation's oxygenation make it a perfect place to sooth your lungs.

Reviewed By SaharaBlondeExcellent stay. This is a family run hotel so very unofficial and welcoming making solo impromptu travel much easier when any reservation changes occur. As a solo traveler I felt extremely safe staying there and felt more like home than a hotel. One of the owners was also immensely helpful towards helping me arrange last minute tours I wanted to do and really made my stay in Banos exceptional. Yes, the hotel is on a steep inclined hill - but you wouldn't have such spectacular views without being on a hill. If you can do a steep 13min hike, it is WELL WORTH IT. The trail is lit up in the evening so no issue coming back after dark either. There is an unofficial restaurant as part of the hotel, so food or drinks are also not an issue, if not wanting to come up/down the mountain too frequently. HIGHLY recommend the property's horse offer when arriving (horse if muddy post rain but I was told a taxi can go up there as well...)- you do not want to be dragging your luggage up that hill AND hiking it for the first time.

Reviewed By Traveling_DoodleUpon recommendation of a friend, I spent 6 nights at Hostal Llanovientos and was very happy with them for my first visit to Baños. Just so you know who is giving their opinion: I’m a single, mid-50’s female, originally from US, but have now lived in Ecuador for 6 years. I don’t have a lot of “discretionary income,” so the most important thing to me when I travel is comfort on a budget. I contacted the hostal directly to book and was offered an excellent nightly rate. This afforded me the opportunity to splurge on an extra spa day. And since I only spent my nights in the room, it was well worth it to me. PROS: all the important things were here for me. Room was VERY clean; full sized bed was very comfortable and I had 4 pillows of various firmness; shower water was HOT and best pressure I’ve found in any hostal (even better than my own home!); WiFi was strong and good speed; staff was always available, friendly and helpful. CONS: the finish out of the construction/facilities is rough (which is common in Ecuador, where they go for function more than aesthetics); furnishings of room were old and a bit worn; lots of noise in this neighborhood - you will hear dogs, car horns/alarms, chickens, games at a local sports facility, etc. You can also easily hear other guests outside and inside their rooms (including water running, voices, etc.). I found guests were conscious of this and respectful. But you will hear anything above a whisper. I’m willing to wave a few minor discomforts/aesthetics to save some cash. The noise didn’t bother me because it’s everywhere. I wouldn’t ever travel without earplugs and once they are in, the outside world disappears. So those things didn’t bother me, but they would some travelers, so I do mention them. Lastly, as others have said, they are at the top of a steep hill. I considered that good exercise, but you have a few options. One is, to walk up part way a few blocks over (which seems less steep), cut over sideways (which is more level and allows you to recover) and then walk the last short bit up one street over (on the other side of their wall), cut across and back down a few steps. I found this to be less severe than straight up the hill. Also, if you are really tired, a $1.25 cab ride from anywhere in town gets you there. Overall I was very pleased here. Although I might try another option if I come back to Baños for a shorter stay, I wouldn’t hesitate to stay at Llanovientos again some time.

They have everything you need for a perfect stay: two spacious swimming pools, saunas, restaurant and even billiard and tennis tables! The property is located outside of the city which is great to be closer to nature. Rooms are big and clean, personnel - polite and helpfull. Totally recommendable!

Excellent stay in Baños
Reviewed By nickt4We actually cut short our stay at another hotel which was rated higher on Tripadvisor and moved to Chamana. It was infinitely better than the first place we staid at, great service and a fun place to stay. Game room was in excellent shape and included breakfast was delicious. One day I had a 7am meeting and although breakfast started at 8am, they brought me coffee at 7am to help get me though that meeting. Really exceeded my expectations.

Decent Hostel, Great Value
Reviewed By tkohl13We stayed here for a few nights in a private room and really enjoyed it. It is a very basic hostel, but it is also one of the cheapest in Banos. The rooms and bathrooms were small but clean. There wasn't really much of a common area to meet other travelers, but that was okay for us. The staff is very friendly and helpful, and we really loved the location, as it was close to everything, but still on a quiet street.
