The Humpback Turtle is a beach hostel in El Valle, Colombia, on Almejal Beach where the powerful Pacific Ocean meets the vibrant jungle of Choco. We offer rustic beach side accommodation in thatch roof cabins with private rooms, dorm beds, and hammocks. Our restaurant serves fresh fish and locally grown fruit and herbs, with a guest kitchen as well. Our bar keeps the cold beer and reggae tunes flowing, with stunning views over the Pacific. In addition, we offer an array of tours and cultural activities in the area. As we have a beach break right in front of the hostel, we do Surf Classes and Board Rentals! Reviewed By Rbailey11This is the wild. A hostel on the beach, a stone throws away from the Pacific Ocean in its most raw sense. This is one of the most remarkable places I've been to. Great people in the hostel, even though I was there during low season - I think I preferred the peace. Seeing these locals hustle, on the edge of Colombia was quite a spectacle. What an amazing experience. Thanks team

Reviewed By AlanK130My brother and I arrived for a 4 day fishing package and from the minute we arrived everything was great. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The food was delicious. The rooms were nice with plenty of space and equipped with floor fans and AC. If you are the type that needs a tv or constant wifi then probably stay somewhere else. If you want a very enjoyable and relaxing vacation with the only noise being the waves and the roosters then by all means visit this place. The hotel and grounds are beautiful. The scenery is amazing. We would watch the schools of sardines if the beach while eating breakfast before loading on the boat. Whale sharks swimming just off the beach.

Reviewed By T8991HWangelacIt was my first time at Tarima Del Colibrí Hotel and I can say is the most beautiful place, it has a really nice entrance surrounded by trees and flowers that creates a magic atmosphere. Then you find the dining room and her special chef Elaine who cooked for us delicious dishes not only fish but also vegetarian options and yummy desserts. The cottages are comfortable, made in wood , with their own bathrooms and each bed has a nest to mosquito protection One of the best things is the location, is in front of the beach. This hotel not only offers really good accommodations but also good plans to do in Bahia Solano; Luisa and Lucas theirs owners are really kind people and are ready to help you and make feel you like home I do recommend this magic place !!

Cabañas nuevas y bien equipadas con todo lo necesario para sentirse cómodo y a gusto. Ubicadas frente a la playa y cercanas al pueblo. Buena cocina con productos frescos locales, con rica sazón. Las vistas desde la terraza donde se sirven las comidas, son increíbles. André y Milena son unos grandes anfitriones, ayudando a organizar las actividades de recreo con la comunidad. Avistamiento de ballenas, liberación de tortugas, visita a la cascada de El Tigre, recorrido por el río Tundó, son alguna de las que se pueden realizar. Todo lo que necesitas para pasar unos días estupendos.

Reviewed By Pauline DFirst i want to say that Jimmy, the owner, is the best! He is so helpful en friendly! The rooms are open (with mosquito nets over the bed) so sometimes it can be a little bit noisy. The rooms are very clean with clean towels. We loved our stay here!!
