Excellent hotel, but in need of renovation

Reviewed By koan57

The management of this huge hotel is simply extraordinary. The staff is first class and service is perfect. However, the room we stayed in, though comfortable and clean, was in need of renovation. The kitchenette was useless and the bathroom claustrophobic. The room however was large and the bed was perfect, except for the pillows which were too soft. The location of the hotel with view of the Prophet's (saw) dome is perfect. At our arrival the AC was very weak, but the issue was fixed within half an hour of our call. The presence of a supermarket in the basement is extremely convenient.

location was excellent, staff were friendly and helpful, breakfast was great, however, the hotel needs renovation as it was quite obvious from the old carpets and scratched doors, lifts need to be expanded as there was overcrowding especially on Friday, not to forget the quality of room service meals which needs a lot of improvement as we had to ask for outside delivery. overall the stay was pleasant and looking foreword for a future visit.

The best place to stay in Yanbu

I was here in March for three nights and was happy with my stay. The hotel is a short 15 minute ride from the YNB airport and you can use the airport taxi to get to the hotel or a Careem on the way back. The rooms are basic yet clean and functional. The front desk, housekeeping, in room dining and breakfast variety everything was top notch while keeping in context the small town of Yanbu. I would without a doubt stay here for my future business trips.

5 star hotel with SMELLY TOILETS!

Reviewed By 777ge90

We stayed here in May 2022, the hotel itself is brilliant, has two resaturants and an excellent lobby cafe that even serves pizza! The staff are super friendly and generally make the experience very nice. The hotel location is perfect as well, on one side it's very close to the masjid, you can literally walk outside the door and see the entrance gate to the masjid, just walk in a straight line for 300 meters and you are there. Equally, if you walk out the other entrance and go towards the north side where the McDonalds sign is, you will have two nearby fast food outlets that serve burgers, chips, shawrma, etc, so food is very easily accessible. If you then go further down the escalators you will find all the cheap markets and low end restaurants that still sell good food at a great price. But the most important part of that area is you can buy everything such as dates, perfumes, etc, at their normal market prices and not the rip off prices closer to the masjid. So the location is great, the hotel is great, but there are downsides. Firstly, the hotel is showing it's age, it's a bit dated, the rooms are a little dark and generally you can tell things are not in such great state of repair, for example the guest toilets (i.e. for visitors), don't even have toilet paper there and the signs were hanging half broken. These are minor things as once you are in your hotel room, it's still a very nice experience and things are well looked after there. With one MAJOR exception, the toilet inside our room STANK. It seemed like, every time anyone else in this hotel used the toilets, our one would get filled with the unpleasant smell and it would never go away throughout our entire stay this bad smell was present. I didn't think to complain and am not sure if it was just our room, but we stayed on the first floor (perhaps that is a floor to avoid)? But I think this is very bad for a 5 star hotel. At first we didn't think much of this and kept the door shut, but towards the end of our stay we realised how bad this problem was, it's enough reason for me to not want to book this hotel again. However, if they fixed this problem I would book it again in a heart beat as everything else was so perfect.

Actually every thing is fine and perfect but I noticed that buffet guys and houskeeping are really scared about intercontinental membership assessment so they worked hard then asked if every thing fine to get full mark. ( I hope this assessment to be continued not just now ) There are three issues that cause by hotel management management which are : 1- when I came t called the reception many time to see if there is availability of check in early at 12 or 1 pm because I got 2 old women ( age above 70) but as usual they refuse even there is empty apartment such as I booked ( 3 bedrooms). 2- last 2 night , there is too much noise from above apartment (110) after 10 pm , unfortunately duty manager couldn’t do any thing . He just tell them to reduce noise but this kids increase noise . I told him to give them a warning them if they repeat you can move them out but he told me he doesn’t have authority as intercontinental haven’t have this policy . 3- I noticed that there is no benefit to have membership such as other brand . ( there should check in early, free coffee , check out late, discount %15, one night free every 10 nights booked .” I wrote this because I love this hotel and hope to see it the best hotel in Almadinah . This hotel has : 1 big rooms 2 reasonable price 3 Near Haram 4 big apartment and I thin the biggest around Alharam.
