Great hostel with unique events
Reviewed By marcosolotravels1Felt this hostel was very entertaining. I went to a few of the events hosted by the hostel and they were one of my favourite experiences in Chengdu. The large lounge area was great and the food was also excellent.

Excellent staff and good deal
Reviewed By Auretta84We spent 4 nights in this cozy hostel and liked it a lot. The girls working there are lovely and always ready to help with any kind of request you might have. And they all speak English perfectly! Our double room was clean and comfortable. The WiFi works very well, everywhere in the hostel. They also kept our luggage for free during three days while we were hiking in Emeishan. The location is good as it is very close to Wenshu Temple area. If we go back to Chengdu we will definitely go to Lazybones Hostel again!

Reviewed By Maria Bso close to Jingli street staff is really helpful and speak good english. They even helped me to buy sim card, showing the nearest attraction and restaurant. I like the atmosphere of this hostel, all decoration. This hostel is clean and affordable

Average stay and wouldn’t stay again
Reviewed By ashems13On our first evening we were told the kitchen was open when it was actually shut, so after a long day of travelling we settled down to order from the menu to be told less than 5 minutes later it was actually shut. By this point, nothing very appetising was open nearby. The bathrooms don’t get cleaned often enough but the toilets are separate from the showers so it’s not “wet room style” which is much better compared to other hostels we’ve stayed in in China. We booked a night at the Opera and our guide forgot to pick us up so we had to reschedule for the following day and miss hot pot night with our friends. On that note - our friends arrived having booked a double room and there was only a twin room left so they were really annoyed. There was trouble with the hot water whilst we were there too which meant we had freezing cold showers on our first day. Having said all of this, the receptionist was so lovely and we would come back just to visit her!! The place is cosy and quiet and very cheap which is great, however the problems we had were a little disruptive.

Chengdu Holly's Hostel is located at downtown area of Chengdu, next to Jinli Ancient Street and Tibetan culture area, we just got renovated this year and all the rooms have private bath, air-con, WIFI, the staff at reception speak good English and know the city and around area very well, can help you with very useful information about transportation and sightseeing.

It has free wifi and the breakfast had a reasonable choice (Chinese Style Only). It is a good location with a nearby parks, shops and restaurants right outside the front door. As well as various outdoor shops around the corner. Located in the heart of the Tibetan Quarter (recommended are the various Tibetan restaurants). Affordable taxis will take you around the city, the hotel can arrange an airport transfer for approximately 100 rmb.

Nice stay
Reviewed By Rick HQuiet part of town, mostly Chinese guests, and pleasant stay. Despite being there during golden week there were only 2 other people in the 8 person dorm. WiFi was good enough and overall pretty clean. Staff were all smiles and friendly.

Under Construction
Reviewed By WizardOfSussexVisited last week, arrived at 8 in the evening then left the following morning early so didn't get the chance to fully experience the hostel. BUT : at the time we went the front was totally gutted out and under construction, we left early in the morning to catch the Pandas and it looked like construction for the day was about to begin, right next to the rooms, so don't expect the quiet, idyllic hostel that it used to be and I'm sure will be again once the construction is finished. Double rooms were good, fitted with better than your average Chinese bathrooms. Surrounding area looked perfect for wandering about lots on offer, a shame we didn't have more time. But, as it stands, i wish I had checked this page first to find out about the construction going on. I'm no builder but at least a few months more.
