Reviewed By Dennis AMauricio and his wife and son are the perfect hosts. We booked for 6 day and stayed 9. We rented an apartment with a kitchen and cooked for ourselves. The restaurants in "Rodadero' are a little pricey. If you look there are a few that are reasonable. El pibe on calle 2 serves home cooked Argentine food. The hotel is near the supermarket, the bakery, pharmacy, and a small private but public beach about 4 blocks away on the ocean. Mauricio is very knowledgeable about the area and can saves you some headaches. He know all the ins and outs. The good local restaurants and be found in downtown "el centro" in Santa Marta.Four of us had a great lunch with soup and lemonade for about 15usd. Back to Tukasa, if you want a nice clean place that is safe and very reasonable in price, then this is the place. they will do all they can to make sure your stay is enjoyable. Juan is Mauricio's son and speak enough English if you do not speak Spanish. Call and make arrangements direct so there are not problems when you get there.Can't say enough, thanks Mauricio for being such a great host.

Reviewed By cljdstanleyPortales del Tayrona is NOT a "hostel" as understood by Americans--it's a gorgeous, magical estate that spreads over several acres of manicured lawn and gardens. The rooms are scattered across the property in a handful of two-unit buildings (nine rooms in all), with a variety of domestic and exotic animals walking blithely around the property: ducks, geese, rabbits, peacocks, guinea hens, deer, iguanas, macaws, parrots, even a toucan! The rooms are well-appointed with the common Colombian exception of the shower, where the water pressure is poor and there's no hot water. The owners plan to install water heaters and pumps to fix the problem. Our room opened onto a large deck with lovely views across their nursery, where they raise plants for sale across northern Colombia. Also available are a nice pool, soccer field, basketball court, and a ping pong table. The restaurant, which served Colombian fare, was open-sided, allowing us to enjoy the property while we ate. A hot cooked breakfast (chosen by the guest) is included. Wifi is good in both the rooms and the restaurant. Diego, the manager, speaks good English and is extremely helpful. The location is great for people planning to visit Tayrona national park, about 10 minutes from the Zaino entrance. There was some night-time road noise from our room, but that's common in Colombia and can be muted with a white noise machine. In short, this is a wonderful place that’s easily worth two to three times what they charge!

Reviewed By anthonydR2112WNThe hotel and rooms were very clean, everything worked fine apart from various power outages caused by heavy winds. All employee's are wonderful and very hospitable, the restaurant offers various great foods, breakfast was on point. Unfortunately the Turkish baths were not working, the gym has very limited machines, Jacuzzi water is cold. Elevators are extremely slow. However the hotel has a very warm a comfortable ambiance, i felt like i was home. The hotel has a laundry service which is dirt cheap, and they do same day delivery. They also have an interior parking lot where you can park your rented vehicle free of charge. The view from the hotel is beautiful and the location is great as well. Will recommend going to check out a beach bar called Playa del Ritmo in Cabo Tortuga which is a 8 minutes cab ride from the hotel. I pretty much went to that beach every single day after discovering it on the second day of my trip. All in all, i recommend staying at this hotel A++++

Reviewed By ThomasAbendrothFirst: I liked it but know what to expect The place is somewhere between Santa Marta and Taganga and has a private beach. The beach is supposedly full on weekends the road down tricky and cab drivers don't like it. The owner has build 3 small houses with the most fantastic view I have seen. They are simple (concrete floor, no TV, no thrills), with some attention to detail. Could it be for you?: - Yes if you want: Total calm and relaxed, have a car in Col or a cellphone (taxis hate this place), want beach, go to bed early and relax and can bear a simple bath (clean and simple) - No if: you don't have a cellphone, are afraid of dogs, expect too much comfort or a connection to the world (no Internet!) We liked it and never slept as well as there again but even we had to leave early as you have real problems to get away in time from there (to our plane the next day).

Reviewed By itsccmBastante linda llena de cabañas de los hoteles vigilancia privada para los huéspedes de estos hoteles, nosotros al quedarnos en un hotel de santa Marta por la Marina no tuvimos estos privilegios pero en términos generales el lugar es lindo sus aguas tranquilas sin olas para esta época del año aguas transparentes no azules pero el agua es clara si quieren encontrar de las pocas carpas que alquilan están aproximadamente en 30 mil pesos hay que llegar muy temprano por que son pocas las sillas las alquilan por 5 mil pesos cada una te recomiendo llevar tu propia comida por que la oferta es limitada al ser playas que no tienen mayor oferta comercial pasan vendedores de agua y ceviches cócteles puedes ver los buques desde la orilla ofrecen servicios de motos de agua por 70 mil pesos los 15 minutos es mucho menos congestionada que el Rodadero lo que la hace perfecta para una visita familiar sin contratiempos y evitar el colapso que genera estar entre mucha gente y poco espacio para disfrutar

Our hotel is very close to Simón Bolivar SMR Airport, just 4 minutes by car, also very close is Santorini Plaza Shopping Center, just 4 minutes by car, Horizonte Beach 2.5 km, Nuevo Rodadero 2.6 km, Punta Ébano Santa Marta at 2.7 km.

Cabañas Don Rafa is located only steps to the Caribbean Ocean in the Bello Horizonte vacation area on the Northern Coast of Colombia. The house is equipped, has a living room with furniture and TV, dining room, kitchen with essential elements, balcony, two rooms equipped with two cabins (4 beds) and another room with bed for two, each room has air conditioning, Two bathrooms (one with shower), the whole has a kiosk, a barbecue, a parking for cottage, surrounded by a lot of green areas, is 15 minutes by car from the road, 5 to 7 minutes from the airport by car And 5 minutes walking from zazue plaza shopping center walking. It is a very quiet area, and calm perfect to de-stress and spend good moments with family, beaches very clean and less crowded than those of the rodadero, many green areas, kiosk to put hammocks and rest, a barbecue to spend a good and rich time in Family, air conditioned rooms, and wifi internet In the low season, pets are admitted with their respective care The area has several shops, such as santorini 2 - 3 minutes walk and carulla which is located in zazue plaza shopping center which is a few minutes walk, also has places to eat like crepes and waffles, subway, pizza by metro, corral, Chicks among others, this 15 minutes of the road by car, talking with the porter you can ask for a taxi, and it is only a few minutes from the airport by car very easy to reach Services Furnished home Wifi TV Parking (one per house)
