The pool, the room, the entire house are carefully thought to give you a great experience. Also, we had the three meals, which were all delicious. Reviewed By JhonmoncadaI stayed for a weekend with some friends. Laura and all the staff was quite nice, they were aware of all our requirements. Rooms are wide and beautiful, and the house looks like a small Santorini house. the breakfast was really tasty as Laura takes time to bring her best. There was a vegetarian option which was delicious. The pool and rooftop are the best of the hotel. Laura is friend of many people in town so she helped us to find the best option for sightseeing Honda.

Reviewed By jpm2085The Waka is an excellent location for a stop over if you're touring Colombia. Its beautifully looked after by Amanda and her excellent team. We had a lovely time just relaxing here in the hot weather. Amanda will arrange for taxis to go in to town, it costs 5000 pesos....£1.20 and will also arrange food to be delivered if you want to stay at the hotel instead of going out.

The location right in the historical center couldn't be better and the same goes for the personal attention...they genuinely want you to have a good time. Basic hotel with good service
Reviewed By Falcon0580First things first, I knew perfectly that the hotel is a 3 star, so I got what I expected, no surprises. The pictures published are a bit misleading, because the reality is not that nice. The hotel management has done its best effort to maintain an old, long overdue building, located in a central location. I have to say and highlight that the staff is very friendly and helpful. Service was great, I had a good breakfast in a clean, well vented restaurant area. The pools need some work, mostly they need thorough cleaning, they have broken tiles here and there, there is a glass fence with several cracked pieces that give a bad image. The rooms also need some work but are acceptable. I asked for a room with a ceiling fan (I don't like AC) and it worked flawlessly, no awkward noises. The bed was fine, good mattress, clean sheets and towels. Cable TV worked with some blurry channels. The bathroom was clean, good shower, just the basics nothing fancy. So for a good night sleep it was perfect, EXCEPT for the fact that the street is really noisy, lots of trucks, buses and motorcycles all night long. One good thing is that I had secured indoor parking, very important with the heat and bright sun during the day. The free wifi was really weak and slow, but worked enough for e-mail checking and light browsing. The hotel is close to the river and its surrounding restaurants, which serve good quality fish dishes. I can say that the hotel is a bit pricy for what you get. The town itself is good enough for a very short stay, 2 nights max, and so is the hotel. I had to change my plans and leave before time (one day before), but the manager kindly explained me that nothing can be done to reimburse the night I wouldn't stay due to regulations and commissions generated to Booking.com. So never again Booking.com, it is better to contact the property directly.

Reviewed By OleebgPros: - location, with large grounds, and by fishing lake; close to the town but on the edge - simple, but very clean, and new rooms with good aircon, flatscreen TV (if you want it), comfortable beds, high ceilings - hammock in front of room - small swimming pool - staff (including at restaurant) were very nice Cons: - wifi was patchy inside the room - the restaurant menu is good but limited; when I went, it was a long weekend in Colombia and half of even those limited items were not available (a big deal? not really) - as I said, it was a long weekend so many families go away, in big groups - they tend to dominate - then again, it's a long weekend, can't really blame the hotel.

Reviewed By Stay78983We arrived last night, There was a communication problem about the rooms. Unfortunately, the front desk staff was not able to solved it. After arriving to the room, the beds were bed bugs infected. After 20 min arguing, we were able to change room. We moved to a first floor room where insulation and humidity were uncomfortable.

Reviewed By CtabordaLa casa es muy agradable y los anfitriones muy amables, es un sitio muy limpio y organizado. Tiene espacios para esparcimiento y piscina. Los cuartos no tienen TV, pero de hecho eso me gustó. Aire acondicionado y baños amplios. Cuando tenga que volver a Mariquita de seguro me hospedaré allí. Fuimos en familia. Con mi esposo y mi hija de 5 años.
