10 Top-Rated Bed and Breakfast Inns in Quebec City, Quebec

April 23, 2023 Jacquiline Delozier

Quebec City may be the only fortified city north of Mexico, but it welcomes visitors with open arms. Explore the Citadel, where you might catch Canadian troops staging a military ceremony. As for food, you could splurge on afternoon tea at the Chateau Frontenac, or do as the locals do and snack on poutine—french fries with gravy and cheese curds.

Charming hotel in the center of Old Quebec. Had a lovely room with a view of the Hotel Frontenac. Perfect location to walk everywhere. Our room was so quaint with exposed brick walls. The bathroom was lovely with beautiful tile. Very comfortable and clean room. The restaurant downstairs is delicious; the French Onion soup is amazing!

Scary dungeon

Reviewed By leah84611

I always read reviews before choosing a hotel and am usually very happy. This experience was the big exception. We arrived at around 5 pm and our room wasn't ready. We were asked to wait for 5 minutes but it took around 25 minutes. When we got access to the room, cleaning supplies and gloves had been left behind and there was no toilet paper. The room is underground and the stone walls give the impression of being in a dungeon. We chose the hotel because it was supposed to have parking and an electric charger but these were not available. On the plus side, my son said the bed was comfortable and, due to the basement location, it wasn't hot.

Excellent place to stay while visiting Quebec City

Reviewed By travellalone

This hotel is located just across the road from the Esplanade Park with several of the attractions in old Quebec City within walking distance. It also houses an Asian restaurant named “Apsara” which is immensely popular and is full of customers every evening. Dealing with this hotel even before we showed up had been quite satisfactory as we had to change our dates that were accommodated. We received the most needed help from this hotel when we were lost and couldn’t find our way to the hotel (when we were actually within 2/3 minutes’ walking distance from the hotel). I walked to the hotel while my wife was in the car a few hundred meters away, and a young employee of the hotel accompanied me to my car and led me to the parking spot that was arranged with another hotel quite close by. We had a long and tiring day and this gesture helped us tremendously. As requested, we were allotted a room upstairs overlooking Esplanade park. Nice room, bathroom, window and flowers ! Bed was comfortable and we slept peacefully. Breakfast was a little disappointing as it was very basic and consisted of bread, butter, jam, cereal, muffin, coffee etc. It would have been perfect if they included something hot – at least eggs, if not bacon and sausage. However, it was a welcoming experience spending a couple of nights here !

Le Chateau du Faubourg

Location, location, location as they say! A French Second Empire style private and restored chateau in the heart of Quebec City. One of the best values in historical Quebec City that includes your breakfast. We also have some parking spaces available which are a rare find in old Quebec. We have suites and rooms at various rates that would accommodate most traveling budgets. Every suite and room has air conditioning, private bathroom (shower or bathtub), cable TV, coffee machine and free wifi. Our rooms and suites also offer quality mattresses and linen. All rooms have been restored. From the chateau, most of the desirable tourist attractions are at walking distance. We are a few steps from the Quebec convention centre, old Quebec and the Parliament hill. Come to visit and experience the chateau life style of the XIX century but modernized to the XXI. Le Chateau du Faubourg has definitely this European feeling since the style and architecture are very Francais. Hope to see you soon in our wonderful historical city!

How to go to a Castle in France ... in North-America :)

Got a reservation for the "Chambre des Maitres" which is simply huge! The decor is as close as you can get to a French castle and it is simple gorgeous. In fact, the entire B&B is looking like a movie set and you feel you went back in time. The breakfast was also very good, Philippe (one of the employee) provided us the best service I had since a long time. As for the location, it is about 1 km from the Old Quebec fortifications with easy access to restaurants, specialty shops, bars and tourist attractions. Be ready to walk for a long time around since there is so many things to see and do. Will we go back ... 100% sure :)

Great value. Clean and comfortable room near city center with view!

Reviewed By jesskatravels

Stayed at Manoir des Ramparts for two nights earlier this year (February 2022). Booked it based on the location and price; much more affordable compared to other nearby properties. Location is fantastic, close enough to the city center, while being far enough for peace and quiet. Right along the fortification wall, with beautiful views. Check-in was easy and quick with the automation system they use. We knew in advance not to expect a front desk or normal hotel amenities, and didn’t miss them. No parking at the property – we opted to quickly drop our bags and then park our car in an underground lot in the city center since we had dinner plans. Just a 5 minute walk back to the hotel. Property is well-maintained and felt very clean. The room had all of the basics of what we needed for our stay with a comfortable bed. Stayed in a street facing room and did not have any issues with sound. Would stay again recommend to others!

Cute and convenient

Reviewed By Moose_Seeker37

When looking for a place to stay in Quebec City, we were trying to find somewhere in or close to Vieux Quebec. Manoir Mon Calme is conveniently located only a 10-15 minute walk from major attractions like the Citadelle and Vieux Quebec. There is a small parking area behind the bed and breakfast, so we could keep the car off of the main street. It is small though - if you have a large SUV, fitting the parking area might be a problem. The room we had was very spacious and had a nice view of the main street below us. The wall adjacent to us was thin and we could hear the neighbors a little, but fortunately they were not too loud. The room included desks and a television, and the bed was comfortable. Breakfast was pretty good too - fruit and a croissant, with freshly-made eggs. Things like toast, cereal, and coffee/tea are also available. One minor issue we had is that the WiFi does not work very well. This was not a big deal for us, but it was a little inconvenient when we wanted to look up things to do for the day on our phones. There is a computer available downstairs that guests can use, though we did not need to use it. Overall this was a very nice experience. The house is nice and the location is quite good. I would recommend this bed and breakfast if you are staying in Quebec City.
