Connemara Lake Hotel

Charming hotel in the square in the town center; walk to pubs and restaurants. Oughterard is famous for fishing for salmon and brown trout, walking the mountain tracks by the lake or the Western Way route, drive the Wild Atlantic Way.

Overpriced

While the staff were welcoming and the room was nice and spacious, we felt 190 euros was expensive for the facilities offered. The restaurant seemed very quiet and without atmosphere. It is well located in the middle of the town but has no nice views.

Great Stay!

Loved our stay! After our extremely long travel day we were welcomed into the B&B with smiles. Room was great for 4 people and bathroom shower had amazing water pressure. Quiet/relaxing atmosphere. Breakfast was delicious both days. Patricia was extremely friendly and suggested places to visit in the area, which all ended up being highlights of our trip. Highly recommend staying at this facility.

Beautiful place, rude people

Reviewed By cormacl308

Very rude, wouldn't recommend staying there. Went to the nearby castle and decided to drive by the lake, pulled in by the road away from the guest house and the viewing point at the lake and just as I got out of the car I the woman came from inside and told me to go as its private land, at no point was I on private land as it's a public road. Not very welcoming at all really

Cosy B&B

Reviewed By ConfusedFinn

We booked the B&B as we were at a wedding for the couple of days. The host was very welcoming, showed us the places we could visit and how if we had time. There is a neat Cafe and Bar attached to the same place which the host operates and great for an end of day few drinks and a bite to eat. We struggled to get a taxi back to our car at the wedding venue but the host had a few solutions when we thought we would be stranded. Highly recommended if you are staying for a few days to a week out west of Galway.
