Compact room, convenient location, good value for money
Reviewed By Alex WThe room was smallish and it didn't have a desk. But other than that, it had all the fixtures (which looked new) that I expected for its price category, and they were in good working order. The hotel does not have a lift, but it does warn you about that at the time of booking. In any case, after being given a 4th floor room, the clerk (who spoke English well) offered to help me with my luggage (I declined since I could manage on my own). For its price category, the following items on my checklist were provided: precise temperature control, 2 power points, wifi, good lighting, drinking water, fridge, soap and shampoo. The wifi signal was strong; all fixtures looked new and were in good working order. Water pressure was good; hot water came through without much waiting, drainage was good. There was a flatscreen TV, but it seemed only to have (very many) local channels, I couldn't find any international news channels. The room was very clean, as were the towels, though they were a little thin. The bed was somewhat hard; it didn't matter to me though it may matter to some guests. The front desk closes at 11pm, so special arrangements may be needed if you are arriving late. Location-wise, the hotel is a 800m walk (on the flat) from Yeosu-expo railway station, passing through buildings left over from when Yeosu hosted the World Expo in 2012, and which have since become deserted hulks. The route is poorly signed, and when you reach the road junctions, they're a confusing maze. It was probably a matter of luck that I managed to make my way directly to the hotel just without getting lost, and just as it was getting dark. It may be helpful for the hotel to state its GPS location (34.746336, 127.743890) on its booking confirmation. From the hotel, it is a nice stroll to the old town centre (southwest of hotel) and to Odongdo island (southeast of hotel). For meals, you'd probably have to walk to the town centre 1 km away, since the area around the hotel is rather quiet. Overall, for the price I had, Ekonomy Hotel gave very good value in many ways.

This Hostel offers many convenient and $1 freshly brewed Americano was excellent. You get breakfast for $3. Let the host know a day early that you would like to have breakfast there. They also have Seven Eleven like store and you can experience a rare fisherman Warf experience. Only strange thing is that Korwan bathroom is very different then American style....very wet floor and small size trowels but the host was very thoughtful and generous. Exceed the value.

Reviewed By suinjang진도는 호텔예약 사이트에서 예약 되는 곳이 없어서 트립어드바이저에서 유일하게 후기가 있는 태평모텔로 전화예약하고 출발했어요~ 시골에 있는 모텔에 4만원이라는 저렴한 가격... 이름은 모텔이지만, 최대한 밝은 분위기를 내려고 노력한 모습이 곳곳에 보여서 너무 좋았고 투숙객은 대중목욕탕까지 무료라서 가성비가 더 높게 느껴지네요. 목욕탕에는 남편만 갔는데, 깨끗하고 히노끼탕도 있고 좋았다네요 저도 갈걸 그랬나봐요^^ 호텔스러운 청결이나 시설을 기대하면 싫을지 모르나, 전 근처에 새로 지은듯한 러브호텔들 보다는 건물도 건전해 보이고 방안 조명도 환하며, 진도 관광 브로셔까지 챙겨놓고, 주변 맛집 안내까지 소개해놓은 주인분의 배려가 느껴져서 좋았습니다 침대 옆에 협탁이 없어서 좀 불편했지만, 전혀 흠이 되진 않았어요~~

Reviewed By thelonious22Atelier Hostel is a private dormitory that doubles as a guesthouse located just across Suncheon University. It’s a few kilometers away from the train station and bus station but almost every bus route from the stations stops at the doorstep. The place is simple but is clean. Room is spacious enough for two and has a TV, fridge, and good WiFi. The manager was nice enough to turn on the boiler (also need to turn it on for hot water) before my arrival to make sure the room was warmed up. For less than 30 dollars, this is arguably the best value lodging in the country.

Simply the BEST, most friendly pension in Korea!

I have stayed in thousands of types of accommodation around the world, but I don't believe I've met more friendly hosts anywhere. Matched with the beautiful, clean, traditional style rooms in the quaint "mud house" style building, this is easily one of my favorite places to stay in Korea. The communal kitchen facilities are clean and contain all you need to provide your own meals, and the BBQ area is great of outdoor dining.

Short stay in Suncheon in a local entertaining neighbourhood

The room we choose was traditional Korean and exceeded my expectations with very confortable yo on an electric ondol floor. We had a computer and big flat TV in the room and a window that was able to close all the way so we could have some privacy. We were not sure the yo would be enough for two at once so boyfriend and I used one yo each (more than two were provided in the room, they were folded but I knew how to set them up from a Japanese trip). Room was quiet (we might have been the only guests at the time) and it was of a decent size. However, we didn't like the fact that even though on Booking.com the hotel had agreed to an Early Check In at 13 o'clock, on arrival at 13.30 we were told we could not check in until the regular time of 15 o'clock. They did offer to store our luggage in the main time and we went in search of some sustenance and rest as we had had the bright idea to walk from the train station with our bags in tow (very bad idea, totally recommend the efficient bus service in the area). I found the bathroom quite tacky as it was pink in a clamshell design and I was thinking that maybe in the area a couple of those hotels are more love hotels than regular ones however everything was functioning alright. And the weird thing I found, working in hotels, is that on arrival all the guest rooms had their door open including ours and we felt a bit unsafe going in as we didn't know what we would thread upon.

Reviewed By ikennenViews are top-notch and the lodging is pleasant and clean. Staff were very helpful and offered complimentary tea and cookies upon arrival. Western-style bed in a separate bedroom in a cool little cottage that is unlike any you’re likely to stay in elsewhere. Recommend!

Clean, Tidy & convenient location to explore Mokpo & surrounding islands
Reviewed By kyeongcStayed 2 night in April 2019. The hotel is with in walking disctance from the railway station as well as the ferry terminal to various islands(10 min?). In the vicinity are various Korean seafood restaurants, seafood market and some tourist visits all reasonable walking distances, and there is a bus station near by. We visited the National Maritime Museum short taxi ride away and there is a fantastic permanent display of salvaged ship(s) and artifacts which gives insight of past history and seafaring cultural history of Korea/China/Japan from some 700 + years ago. There are other museums close-by but as we were late in arriving those were closed. Breakfast: Included but very limited by western or Korean Standards, Some eggs, bread, juice, cornflakes, some cut fruits, some cold meat & soup. Internet: Free & fast
