Reviewed By JimbomikeWhat a fantastic little place this is! Perfectly located at the entrance to the ancient town, this hotel is beautifully fitted out and modernised but has loads of character. The staff were super friendly and could speak a little English if required. The rooms are spacious, comfortable and nicely appointed. Breakfast was included and was freshly cooked to order and very nice. One of the best places I have stayed in China!

The hotel is inside of the most essence core of ancient dwellings-typical style building. It leans close to prosperous Old Street. We have ten bedrooms including large bedrooms, deluxe kind rooms, family suites and double rooms etc, with all different furnishings and have modern fitments like TVs and air conditions. We also have mini bar, chess room, restaurants, WIFI and SPA. welcome to visit!
Amazing Place
Reviewed By savagegeriThis is, by far, the best hotel I stayed in China. It is a cozy, quite, and clean place. The building is over 150 years old, however the bathroom is brand new, very good shower, very good air conditioning, very nice bed and linen. The owner picked me up at the airport with no charge and his wife took me to town to shop for certain items I needed They have staff who speaks English and they go out of their way to help the guests.

Traditional and well located
Reviewed By Sue DFortunately we were with a guide when we arrived in Huangshan or else we might have struggled to find this hotel as it is located down a dark narrow alley. It sounds ominous but felt quite safe. The little wooden doorway opened into a small courtyard and suddenly you felt you had been taken back in time. The whole place was lovely. If you want to stay in a place that has a traditional feel to it, then come here. The room itself was furnished in old dark Chinese furniture including a boxed in double bed. Maybe not for the claustrophobic though! There's no view and it's a bit odd having glazed panels to the ensuite bathroom, but that aside, it was great. Just a few minutes walk to Old Street as well. Breakfast was a tasty bacon sandwich.

Value for money but..
Reviewed By cmhedenSince the price is low your expectations should also be low. The rooms are in dire need of renovation. In our room the carpet came loose, one shower cabinet door was missing and the bathroom had old grime. Another of our rooms had ants in the bathroom. The location is good but the traffic noise can be disturbing. The wifi worked in the corridor but not in our rooms. Pros: Cheap Good location Fairly big rooms Cons: Worn down Noisy In conclusion the hotel is OK to spend a night in but expect it to be very worn and slightly dirty. And bring your own toilet paper...

A true jewel in the countryside
Reviewed By braunschweigtravelerNot to be confused with Pig’s Inn Oil Factory, this hotel is not a conglomerate of a few buildings, but one beautifully remodeled ancient Qing dynasty building including a pond, an old impressive ancestor’s hall and a few nice, comfortable rooms to sleep in. You can tell it was an artist who bought this old house: the modern decoration fits the ancient furniture, carvings and yards very well. And the Chinese food is very good, too! People there were very friendly, one lady even spoke English quite well. The fact that there is a pub right next to the hotel, makes the place even more attractive. But most of all, we loved the small village Bishan. Very few tourists, narrow streets, ancient buildings – sometimes a bit run-down, but that made the place even more charming. And the library is very fascinating, too. So, if you want the real experience and love very unique boutique hotels, this is the place to go.

Reviewed By LG_KayHotel is 5 mins walk from the shuttle bus to the Huangshan scenic area. It is rather old, carpet in lift and along corridor in need of shampooing. I booked a Deluxe Standard Room. General cleanliness is ok. Room size is reasonable, with clean bed and towels. Basic amenities are available - air con, toiletries, hot shower, TV, slippers, tea, hair dryer. Breakfast is Chinese style, limited buffet choices for 15rmb. I took the breakfast for 3 days for convenience and fill my stomach for the day. Overall, a decent hotel in this small town here.
